The purpose of this repository is to have a save file for each mission which meets the following three criteria:
All units that can be unlocked are unlocked.
25/25 research, but no research points have been spent.
No money has been spent.
Compiling such a collection of save files is incredibly tedious, so I permitted myself a few time saving allowances:
In Utter Darkness usually isn't completed.
Breakout / Ghost of a Chance isn't completed, except on the Char missions.
In order to use this repository, simply choose a mission you want to speed run, and download the corresponding file. Once loaded, you may make any research and upgrade decisions you desire (as well as completing Breakout or Ghost of a Chance if you want to use Spectres or Ghosts), adjust your difficulty setting, and then proceed with the run.
Help! How do I back up my current campaign first?!
Search your computer for "LibertyCampaignSave.SC2Save" and back up this file.

That Maw of the Void run is actually the only of the linked videos that I created, so I can comment on it .
There are photon cannons all over the place but there just so happens to be a little opening in front of the vault. The hardest part was finding a safe place to drop in the ghosts so that I could cloak them without taking damage. The tolerances are very tight as there's a Colossus, an Archon, and a Void Ray right there, all of which owned me many times!
Liberation Day Casual 2:06! Is my personal record. (playing through it for credits) Edit: I don't have a video, but I don't think it really merits a video, lol.

I've gotten 1:59 on Liberation Day Casual, but that was on Slowest .
Toast - I doubt it, though they might help you achieve them since you'll have even more.
Chex Mix, to clarify, where you say you'll have any units that can be unlocked, unlocked. Do you mean the save file has every single map apart from that one (or what it leads onto) done before Char?
In case you don't know THE site for speed runs feel free to visit Speed Demos Archive
Maybe I'm a geek but I generally love to watch people find the most creative ways to execute some insanely quick game walkthroughs and this is the site for it
They also have some very nice StarCraft as well as Brood War speed runs.
Of course the lastest craze is their dedication to the Official StarCraft 2 Brutal Speed Runs forum section with some VODs as well as a lot of debate and talk about the most usefull tactics and strategies for getting the lowest possible times.

You *can* get achievements off of campaign save files. So if you wanted to load one, purchase an entire category of upgrades, reload, do it again, etc. to get the upgrade achievements, you could.

Except for Breakout, Ghost of a Chance, and usually In Utter Darkness, yes. If you find I've made a mistake somewhere, let me know.

Mediafire appears to be down at the moment. I've never had problems with it in the past, but if you know a more reliable, free, unlimited hosting service, let me know.

Yeah only thought of that after I replied that you might be one of those cool guys from SDA but welcome aboard I'm soon going to read the entire thread just for inspiration and the awesomeness of all of your combined effort
As I can't access MediaFire right now I'll just ask instead. Are you going to cover almost every single possible combination of paths? If that's why you say this task is so dauting.
I mean some might want a very specific order in which to complete the missions to unlock certain units and upgrades for the best possible speed run times.

For any given mission, if a unit could be unlocked, it is. So if you want to use Battlecruisers on The Evacuation then load up the file for that mission and go to town. They are unlocked. The order in which the already completed missions were completed doesn't matter, just that they are done.
In order to cut the amount of work I had to do, I left Breakout / Ghost of a Chance as an exercise for the end user. So if you want to use Ghosts or Spectres, you must complete the corresponding mission yourself. (I made an exception for the Char missions and made a branch for each option, as you can't go back to old missions on Char.)
Additionally, In Utter Darkness usually isn't completed, unless it would do something other than give you more money. Lastly, Safe Haven was always chosen above Haven's Fall, except for one mission (I can't remember which one) in which the choice advanced the Protoss research a tier, but was not relevant either way for the Zerg research.
I'm also not quite done yet, as I still have 6 files that have no links. I will probably finish those today or tomorrow.

Mediafire is obviously having some difficulties at the moment, as they've been down for almost 24 hours now ... but the site has been around for four years and this is the first extended outage they've had in my experience.

Both have limited bandwidth (for both files and you the downloaders), limited number of downloads, limited storage, don't allow parallel downloads, have annoying timers or CAPTCHAs, they delete your files if people don't download them often enough, etc.
I would rather be patient and wait for Mediafire to come back online than reupload to a garbage site.
Just posting to give a huge thank you (I got distracted by Persona 3 for a couple weeks and my achievement whoring slipped) and support to finish the project.
For the Media Blitz, I take it you count the first five minutes with Odin as well correct? For using ghosts, did you kill all turrets and detectors first?

The time used is whatever the game itself says your time is on the victory screen. The game *does* include the first five minutes with the Odin.
I didn't make the Media Blitz video that I linked to, so I can't say for sure what was done. I've done some personal testing on that level, though, and I believe the best strategy is this:
Kill one unit so you aren't trapped, and allow the other units to chase and damage you.
Walk to the SE base and destroy the topmost missile turret from below the ledge.
Walk to the N base and destroy both missile turrets.
Walk to the W base and destroy both missile turrets, the raven, and all four starports.
Die as soon as possible.
This will enable you to do a ghost drop, after which your only concern is the three ravens that will be spawned via triggers by the game, regardless of what you have already destroyed. Your goal once you drop the ghosts is to drop a nuke with each ghost timed perfectly such that the approaching raven is caught in the nuclear explosion before giving vision of you. Also be careful in the SE base, as the bottom turret covers all but the tiniest sliver of the target location. (You actually end up standing just outside the green circle.)

Oh fair enough!
Sounds do-able but painful. Would we have drop-pods by this time?

Have to look up the raven timing then I guess.
As far as I know this can only be done with any reasonable consistency with saves and reloads. If you examine the triggers for that mission in the map editor, you will see each tower has two possible locations for spawning a raven, and the timing is also not deterministic. Maybe if you tried 100 times you might be able to do it in a single segment ... maybe not.
For the record, all my videos for Brutal is actually not individual level runs, they are for a full on segmented speedrun of the whole campaign. So some of my times in later levels may not be as good as they would be if I had access to all the upgrades I would want. I suspect a final time of around 3 1/2 hours or less. I typically update on the SDA forum, but I will try to remember to update here on TL every once in a while too.
Current Progress Liberation Day - 2:26 The Outlaws - 6:03 Zero Hour - 20:12 Smash and Grab - 6:22
Current time: 35:03
Incomplete, but current best for Devil's playground is 6:18
I just made a bevy of updates to the OP thanks to youtube user Fragmaster01. He's got a full-game normal speedrun up that looks pretty good. A lot of the times are quite beatable though!

There is no chance of banning whatsoever, they are just normal, unadulterated save files.
Anyway, here's a great Welcome To The Jungle speedrun on Brutal in 7:37, by Anzeijar: .
hey, i didnt think this warranted a separate thread, but if you use a save file liek these what happens with achievements?
like can someone just take these and get the achievements instantly? can you get in trouble for doign somethign liek this? etc. If i use these files will they bug up my achievements?

You can get the achievements from these save files, though you probably should consider are you *really* achieving it and is that how you want to go about getting them? I personally consider it part of the game I paid for and wouldn't want it to basically just be done, but that's just me.
To get achievements you just need to load up a save file before X occurs and then do it. I dont believe you can get in trouble for using save files, though hopefully someone will correct me if i'm mistaken.
You shouldn't encounter any bugs or other issues, as achievements are stored remotely when you achieve things, as opposed to being on your pc checking for names of saves or whatever.

Because they are from a previous patch. You can't get achievements from playing offline. Which is the only way to play previous patch saves.
I love outbreak. One thing I really wish the campaign had more of was pushing against a large flow of units. Aside from belly of the beast, this is the only level where (if you move out at night) you are pushing hard against huge numbers.
