I've even completely mined out the expansion, have all upgrades, and my army consists of almost all void rays except for the units that were given to me when the heroes come in.
Tips?

On lower levels getting the fold helps but I really didn't like having to defend it on brutal, though it's most likely possible it just made me feel like I was spread too thin.

The waves on hard seem to have more units but still not too many to severely hurt you, so you can rack up more kills before the really tough waves come rolling in. At least in theory this should be a good idea. not really, since the objective on normal is 1500 units so you only have to kill 2250 to get the achievement, but on hard the objective is 2000 so you have to kill 2750 to get it

Also, I did not take the gold expo, your minerals should run out after the achievements are secured anyway.

An alternative way to complete it is to make the minimum ground army you need in order to defend until you get carriers, then mass them. You should have saved up a lot of resources, have several stargates and be at 2/2/2 upgrades for air with 3/3/3 on the way. Then just defend the dual ramps with air, making as large air army as you can, even sacrificing drones when it comes to that. When the ramps finally get pushed, simply fly away to where the hydras can't hit you and camp there racking up kills on the corruptors and overseers. VRs work as well.

Right at the beginning build 5 probes from each nexus, then add a 2nd forge and cyber core and start upgrading. Upgrades are probably the most important thing in this mission. The 2nd most important thing is using your phoenixes to lift every single hybrid unit. Rebuild any phoenixes you lose and keep them behind your army until the hybrids show up and just lift them all, prioritizing the ranged ones. Have 2 robos constantly producing colossi. As long as you engage every wave while they're still on a bridge colossi should clean everything up. Once you get void rays have 2 stargates constantly producing void rays. Have 5-7 warpgates you can use to keep your zealot count up, as they die frequently but are essential for preventing units from reaching your colossi. Zealots will become less important one you get maxed because you will have a critical mass of range units and will probably want to use any supply freed up by your zealots dieing to build more colossi or void rays. Use extra minerals on cannons. Cannons will go a long way towards keeping the zerg units in manageable clumps once your observers die and waves start coming from multiple directions at once, because the waves will stop to kill your cannons. Eventually the waves will become more frequent and all your cannons at the chokes will start dieing. When this happens fall back to the high ground. When all or most of your ground units die take all your air units and fly them to the right of your base on the bottom edge of the map. Here only mutas and corrupters will be able to attack you, but by this point there are so many that you won't last very long. You should already have the achievement or be very close to it I didn't bother with the expo. You'll have more than enough income to get maxed without it and by the time extra money to reproduce units would be useful all your production buildings will be getting killed anyway. I guess with more money you could spam more cannons, though.

Started the game by adding on 5 gateways and a dark shrine, Walled with dark templar, wall middle, left then right, as thats the order it comes in.Then when you get the starports, just make phoenix, then when the voidrays come, make voidrays, and then when the carriers come, make carriers. You can keep the voids/carriers in one control group, you can keep phoenix in one too, and you can use the voidraiy/carrier comp to kill all the brutalisk for the lols, you use phoenix to pick up the hybrids so they dont shoot air, and you can protect your dark templar wall by killing the overseer's quickly. Then when you build up resources, fill both bases with cannons, so nydus worms wont spawn any units and do any extra damage. Specifically, they spawn around the artifact (orwhatever it is, just below it and symmetrical. Also they spawn above the starports)

I just mass colossi from 4 robo and build pheonix (~6 pheonix any time is enough) The excess mineral are used to build gateway and photon cannon at the three chokes. Whenever the hybrid came, grab them with your pheonix (range one first). Rememeber to upgrade nonstop. When you get the 2500 kills, the incomming enermy is just too many so I retreated my whole force to the base, with mothership cloaking all of them. It was about 20+ colussus and the air army given by the mission. I just sit there and kill the incomming enermy, using worm hole to suck those hybrid etc. And at last my kill count is 33xx. on brutal difficulty

When Selindis comes in her carrier, I started making carriers. I put all of my units on one control group and ran around killing zerg. In total I got about 2400 kills until I was overrun. Remember to put your Build Interceptor in auto-cast.
