Its a pretty good result in the context of the Europa League. There's not many harder fixtures in the competition than Betis away.
TBH our second half was quite poor. Pellegrini completely baffled Ange with his subs and his tactical changes, Betis dominated us and deserved the equalizer.
Keep your eyes out for Igor Jesus. He's got a brace in both games he's played for us so far. Looks like a natural goalscorer at the top level.

Russel Martin is having an absolute shocker at Rangers.
Another "philosophy" manager who has no idea how to adapt.

i'm surprised he has been given the opportunity to stick around; the fact that rangers are in the RELEGATION ZONE is enough to tell you he has to go

Potter sacked, replaced by Nuno. So much for the Nuno to United storyline.
... Potter to United?

How sick is palaces throw in in the last minute? Going for a win when you got a draw secured against the chanpions

In Osaka on holiday, tried to get a ticket to see Cerezo Osaka vs Kyoto tonight but it was sold out so watched it at a pub.
The Kyoto away fans drowned out the Osaka fans easily. Was impressed with them from what I saw on tv.
The coin toss was weird to me. Both captains were super serious but there was a hello kitty cat suit person who seemed fully involved, even got it's hands shaken by the players

I assume it's far enough from Europe that some differences end up showing. Is specific pubs only or can you actually see the matchday on the streets or so?

Liverpool lose the game and Slot blames frimpong openly for that... Pretty low class from him tbh. Liverpool lost not because of the last minute goal but because Glasner has done more with less than Slot
Not saying slot is bad but this weekend Glasner was much better and he has no right to call frimpong out

The ref surely wouldn't give us a counter attacking chance. Kerkez messed up when he just kicked it out into a throw in set piece position rather than retaining possession then hoofing it back to Henderson, at which point the ref surely blows for FT. There was literally 0 risk for Palace to play for a set piece in that position.
We've continuously been getting hammered on set pieces. 2 to Newcastle, 2 to Palace, 1 to Soton. Not sure what's wrong with our defensive structure on these set pieces but we seem incredibly vulnerable to them. I think bringing in two pretty short FBs doesn't help with this obviously, but I also think our taller players like Gravy and Gakpo need to be better about getting the ball cleared properly out of our box. We always seem to just let the ball bounce in our box time and time again which then gives the attack more chances to find a way to cause more chaos in our defensive lines.
Credit to Palace though, they've been our boogeyman for the past couple of seasons and Glasner has done a magnificent job. Sucks to effectively have a 3 point swing this weekend when it felt like we could've snuck a draw and Arsenal were headed to a draw until two last minute winners means our lead drops to 2 points.
