I love it, Bayern imploding. Also rumours that Bayern bosses are very unsatisfied with Tuchel's comments.

It's just that Leverkusen is off the charts and Alonso is called to be a magician, playing attractive and successful football

Nice solid game for LFC missing some players and having played just 3 days ago. Thought we were just cruising along, gave up a goal where Bradley got absolutely got cooked on that right side but he was knackered at that stage of the game. Can't wait to see our lineup continue to get stronger and stronger as February comes around.

Can't see him going back to another PL club. Bayern maybe, national squad maybe but my guess is Real or Barca Zero chance of going to Bayern. He's from Stuttgart who hate Bayern. He has a strong bond with Dortmund, who also hate Bayern. He's only ever taken on project teams and Bayern are not that. On January 27 2024 03:29 {CC}StealthBlue wrote: Insane. Watch Ten Haag be his replacement. Also zero chance of happening. About the same chance as Steven Gerrard. Noone seems to be mentioning Pep Lijnders as a possible successor, I wouldn't be surprised if he got the gig. Xabi Alonso seems the obvious one though.

At least Liverpool look set for the future squad wise, unlike United when they built very short term to get Ferguson his last league Something tells me Liverpool have some candidates in mind, indeed I imagine most top clubs have at least some ideas at all times, in case their manager departs, would be an absence of diligence if they didn’t. Plus with Klopp announcing now, they have plenty of time. Perhaps that’s why he’s gone public partly, probably in agreement with the club. Be a shame to see Klopp depart, and I really can’t see him managing another PL team, but hey we shall see. It I’m Xavi Alonso or whoever I can focus on doing my job to the best of my abilities knowing the Liverpool gig will be open come the summer. Which is actually quite rare, but does allow for some planning. Often managers have to walk a tightrope and hope a good gig becomes available, which is down to luck and timing as much as ability. In recent years I think Pochettino and Nagelsmann are two I can think of where the right gig for them often hasn’t opened up, so you either take a sabbatical and wait, and your stock can decline or rise in absentia, or take a gig that maybe doesn’t fit. Poch and United seemed a good blend but it never opened up for him, for example. If Alonso, who seems a great fit for Liverpool with his playing history, but also how his team plays compared to the squad he’d inherit, and they also want him, there’s plenty of time to sort that out and Leverkusen can do succession planning to. It seems the obvious fit but maybe he wants to keep building his current side and see where he can take them, or maybe Liverpool have someone less obvious in their sights

Wonder which national team he goes too, hope he gets England job ![]() Who Liverpool get now is such a massive and huge decision. Alonso is so good right now but he needs more time, he needs another season in champs league to improve again with Leverkusen. De Zerbi is over rated and not good enough for that job. Then it leaves Naglesmann, but depends what happens with the national team in the summer with him. Outside of that my option would be Spaletti as he plays football they would like, but i dont think he wants to do that now as he is older. Thats pretty much the list and its not the best right now considering who they have to replace....unlucky Liverpool i guess.
