I can't believe it but I think England will win the Euro... No he hasn't lol, he is still full idiot. The best english cb duo are Braithwaite and Tomori, none are going to the Euros, the best left backs in England are Chilwell and Shaw, only one is going and he is not fit until matchday 2. One left back in the whole squad. Wharton is going, who has played 13 premier league games, before that was playing in league one!! (Division 3) and is 19 years old....over Grealish who when was fit, Pep would play him in the big games, but he has been out injured a lot this season. Southgate has gone crazy with this team as we have 0 defence, so its out score your opponents or lose horribly. I think he’s taking a bit too big of a risk on the left side of defence, overall it’s a pretty good squad all told.
Tomori just seems destined to not get a look in, which I’d definitely criticise Southgate for, and perhaps he and Branthwaite are the men in form, but I can’t see them making a huge difference either.
England’s fortunes aren’t going to be dictated by some centre backs who are all reasonably close in level, it’s the mood being right in the camp and getting the best out of areas where they’re strong.
I mean they have the reigning Bundesliga, La Liga and Prem players of the year after all,
It’s not really Southgate’s fault that England don’t have an established midfield ball player to complement Rice and Bellingham, he could either do without and play two holders (which folks have criticised him for years for), or take a risk and pick players who might fit the bill.
We shall see! I’d give this squad a B/B+ myself but with pretty big reservations. If Shaw is fit and in decent nick it’s not really a big issue, if he is not then that’s a pretty big gamble to be making

It's Gomez's time to shine, Klopp was playing him at LB all this time to prep him for this moment.

Theorycrafting question. Probably a dumb one. Has Harry Kane ever played at left wing?
It's far too late to start this kind of experimentation but considering the left side issues, I wonder what England would look like with him on the left flank and Watkins central. Saka or Foden on the right, take your pick. Kane is an exceptional player and might be able to adapt?
4-3-3 something like
Kane Watkins Foden/Saka
Rice Bellingham Gallagher
Shaw Stones Konsa Walker
or 4-2-3-1
Watkins
Kane Bellingham Foden/Saka
Rice TAA
Shaw Stones Konsa Walker

All i know is today confirms Southgate is just so poor tactically, from 20th minute you can see that there was no pressure when Iceland had the ball so they could get up the pitch quickly. He never changed it to bring a 3 man midfield at all, he doesn't change anything tactically...just changed players, now i get its a friendly, but that was a poor way to go into the tournament and now for the next 7 days it will just be abuse coming his and the teams way from the press about who he left out and how he will never win anything.
Has to be a 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 for me with walker stones guehi cbs and wingbacks of trippier/shaw and trent with then jude rice with foden saka and kane front 3 which would have more freedom like that.
Or in the 4-3-3 it is walker stones geuhi shaw/trippier with jude trent and rice mid 3 and the same front 3, but that pushes foden out to the left.

Here I was, afraid the press would rip the German squad apart for below average performances in their last two friendlies but then along comes a friendly England who played piss poor and the press is all over them. God save the King!

God save the King! Which is bizarre in a friendly after the squad cuts especially, I mean most players are happy to go through the motions and not get injured a week out from the tournament starting.
I’d actually be interested to look at tournament winners/finalists etc over the years and how they did in warmup games.
If anything getting a little knock is maybe a good thing, keeps the ego and complacency in check somewhat. Swear I’m not just coping!
Still not used to ‘God save the King’ haha

Hope you are right, after cruising through quali and friendlies these last games have been a mess for Portugal xD

@kobrakay how the fuck is Nelson Semedo right back for Portugal still? Surely you have better options?

Nobody knows!
Its one of the most baffling things by NT coaches around here. Its almost meme status now. Its not like we dont have anymore people for that side and in good shape for that matter.
Worst player of the epl 2 years in a row or something has reserved spot in our NT roster.

He played for Barcelona once, he must be good /s

I combed through some power rankings and this is gist of it.
1. France 2. England 3. Portugal 4. Spain 5. Germany 6. Belgium 7. Netherlands 8. Croatia 9. Italy 10. Denmark

England had some really weak performances with the national team so I'd rate Portugal over them. Talent-wise they are definitely the strongest

Does Belgium have any new talent coming up? It feels like they were really, really stacked 5 years ago, but now it's slowly dwindling with players moving past their peak years. Fit De Bruyne is still probably a monster, but how's the rest of the roster?

Fit De Bruyne is still probably a monster, but how's the rest of the roster? Doku’s a pretty scary prospect for full backs of players who’ve come through after the ‘Golden generation’, but he’s really the only absolutely elite talent of these new ones coming through.
Rest of the squad is a mix of pretty decent players, or those of the golden generation who are another tournament older. I’d worry about a defence still relying on Vertonghen and which always was Belgium’s Achilles Heel in terms of not really having truly great fullbacks
But it’s international football, sometimes a mood clicking or a few players having outstanding tournaments can make the difference.
Neither Belgium bombing out disappointingly early or them having a deep run would massively surprise me, part of the fun!
I think they’ve morphed a bit from being rather stacked with genuine world class players, to having a decent overall side with a sprinkling of that stardust. Which really reminds me of Croatia in recent years in that respect and they’ve punched pretty consistently hard in these tournaments.

let me repeat the question from few pages ago... . How about a TL fantasy league?

I finished below my friend who literally doesn’t follow football in the Premier League one, but nonetheless am happy to give Fantasy a go here!

Oh i tried to join on my phone and failed but i made a team to join. Ill try again later for sure!
Making the team i realized that this is by far the summer tournament that i have the less in depth knowledge in recent years.
My default to guys for this sort of thing are now either old or phased out xD and im not really finding the usual cheap players that are monsters but fly under the radar.
