Who was it here that called Cousins a .500 magnet? He's overdue to play terribly with them being so many games over .500.

They are also 8-2 with a -2 point differential, basically the profile of a lucky .500 team.

Rumor is Rhule is the next HC at Nebraska. I don't feel either way about it. I think if he can turn it around in year 2 (this next year is probably a wash depending on who transfers out), then I'll back him 100%. Still want Mickey Joseph to be part of the team and to get the next shot at the HC chair. If he leaves, he's probably taking 10 players + recruits with him.

I want MJ because the kids really, really like playing for him. And you can tell they want to see him succeed as much as he wants them to succeed. Rhule is a good stop gap measure to right the ship, but MJ is the only long term option the Huskers have imo. No one will stay put there for more than 5 years if they're not winning (and even if they do, they'll see greener pastures soon after).

Just based on who MJ has put into the NFL, he's going to be the biggest draw to any school he ends up at I believe.

Rhule is the coach for Nebraska. Gave him an 8yr contract. I bet the details are he has to produce a winning season by year 2, Big10 championship appearance by year 5, and CFP by year 8, or some variation thereof. I want to see the staff he puts together and who's announced. I give him 4-5 years before he's gone somewhere else though.

And I'm hoping a close game between osu and um. We could get 2 teams into the CFP this year, so we need UM to not get blown to hell.

I don't know. I just think that Nebraska isn't willing to be on the hook for another 20mil buyout if Rhule doesn't work out. So stipulations to ensure they can fire him without owing him a ton of money would make sense. And he still has his NFL money, so there's something to think about. Hoping to get the details of it soon (there's bound to be a FOIA request before long).

Most of the contracts have a clause where if you take a job, your buyout money is reduced to reflect the new contract. So if he leaves for some place paying more, UNL won't be on the hook for him and neither would the Panthers, assuming. I'd guess he's getting 4-5mil a year with conditions.
