Austria and Ukraine likely to have a gentleman's agreement to play out a 0-0 draw (reminds me of the horrible Italy-Mexico match in WC 1994 where both teams just passed the ball around aimlessly for the last 15-20 minutes as a 1-1 draw would be enough to send both teams through the next stage). Actually, it depends on the result of today's matches, in case Wales pulls a miracle - Ukraine will be happy to play Wales in the ro16, and I believe Austria prefers the same opponent ![]() On the other hand it Italy wins today - we might expect a slow 0-0 match when teams are saving the energy for the play-offs

Wales, the best British team in the Euros! (apologize me for leaving out Scotland and NI in that comparison, they are simply not doing so hot :D) 2021: Wales: 4 points, +2 GD England: 4 points, +1 GD 2016: Wales: Semifinal England: RO16 PS: Group stage: Wales 6 points, England 5 points, in the same group! Historic peak performance: Wales: Semifinal 2016 (no 3rd place game) England: 3rd place 1968 (that's almost as far back as when Uruguay won the World cup...) Historic point average: Wales: 2pts/game England: ~1,4pts/game And no, those stats are totally not handpicked.... :D

Don't remember the Kamara v Russia tackle, but there's a difference if you step on an ankle or you hit the ankle in the air above the ground ![]()

Bernardeschi wasn't down for very long and didn't take any serious damage. It was just a mistimed tackle. Even the Italian players looked surprised

Even the Italian players looked surprised The fuck what? oO Serious foul play A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play. Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play. Reread the rules. Edit> Serious foul play is one of the reasons to get the red card. Also direct red card is VARable, so it was checked by somebody more knowledgable ![]()

Could have been lenient yellow or hars red and I am on the red side as I don't like to wait until SHTF. I saw too many broken legs (never mine though)

And in the same manner, both Austria and Ukraine might rather finish third instead of second.

Ukraine cannot get 3rd place safely, it's risky considering that we'll have only 3 points, we may not even advance to the playoffs
