The three main drivers seem to have been RM, Juventus and United.

Roman’s involvement with the club has never been about money, it has always been about the community and [the] fans. This is not what we want.” The source added, “Issues with the Champions League and Uefa remain ... but we are preparing to withdraw after having listened to the community.” You know, its mostly the American billionares that buy into football to make money. The other mega rich owners are in it for the image boost. And this isnt a good look for ones image Edit: what i quoted is what he probably said just got lost along the way with how quick the media are pumping out articles

But really all they need to do is make a law (or convince the league to do it, but GL on that) which states that you can only compete if you're 50+1 owned by the club. And then just leave it to each owner to figure it out. That's a money loss, I doubt you can do that without reimbursement and that's gonna be pretty costly considering we're talking about the whole PL.

Then there's Perez and the Juventus dude whom I think have wanted to equalize the economic advantage of the premier league. Literally the only guy I've seen be positive towards this (aside from owners) was the leader of the real madrid supporter club in Norway - and he stated that as the reason - it was good, economically, for real madrid.

I’m not particularly happy at this avoidance of catastrophe, merely stopping it this time, what’s to stop them having another crack down the line? The Overton window has been pushed rather far out here, I don’t want the existing inequity and treatment of fans to be seen as fair and the norm, merely by comparison to the Super League.

awkward moment for ed woodward and the juventus chairman if they decide to call it quits on the super league. they just exposed themselves as some of the biggest villains and gave up their positions of power for nothing lel. also in october woodward explicitly denied any rumours of a super league being formed because he was on the uefa board and he would know. what a fucking snake holy shit just as i post this woodward resigns!?!?! FUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS thank you super league thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I thought disband could easily happen in a few weeks as the resistance starts forming something more concrete and substantial, but that was never going to happen in a handful of days.

Perez resigns at Real, new elections and all of a sudden they are the good guys... I dont really think so... At least Chelsea will never get invited to a secret club ever again. Which is a good thing!

This was his big gamble. Tell everyone its not going to happen WHILE you are planning it?
