The current board has ruined what made the club so good. Trust in the youth system and in the Barça way of playing. They managed to win titles because of the insane squad and Pep's foundations, but they did everything wrong to keep things going that way. Players are now old and far too complacent to run like they should, and the board is never going to mess with them directly because they might lose face publicly, so they do shit like the paid twitter hate against them. They pick coaches that'll let players do what they want and/or take the blame, and they try to survive until the next election. What Messi is doing is a powerful thing but sadly I doubt we'll get early elections. I don't want to see a player be so important he can decide this kind of thing, even if he's Messi, but I want Bartomeu and his friends gone so much that I'm okay with it haha. The next president will still need to do some deep cleaning, starting with the squad. Next season with the same board is going to be completed wasted, and they're going to need a couple of years to rebuild when Messi, Suarez, Pique, Rakitic, Busquets, and all the other 30yo+ players are gone. Fun times incoming.

Quite happy to have them back, O’Leary’s babes were good fun while they lasted and they brought through a lot of British and Irish talent. Bielsa is the football hipster’s coach of choice too and a gloriously idiosyncratic person to boot. Hopefully they can be more like Sheffield United than Norwich next season.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-53428586 A cardboard cut-out of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was spotted in the stands of Nottingham Forest's City Ground. It was seen by a football fan during Forest's 2-2 draw against Swansea on Wednesday night and posted on Twitter. The club later confirmed the cut-out has been located and removed. Supporters are unable to attend the remaining games of the season and several clubs have invited fans to supply photos to put on empty seats. Signage firm Tennants UK, which has been making the cut-outs for the club, declined to comment on the use of Epstein's image.

Also wow Arsenal take the lead in the FA cup semi final! Wow Arteta and his 4 wingback lineup just took City out of the cup! Arsenal are in the fa cup final.

I’m not sure Real can emulate much of what Arsenal did. Arteta’s been drilling them to play 3 at the back for a while now. Probably helps to cover David Luiz and get the best out of him. Not sure Real would suit playing that way, plus a one-off cup game starting from 0-0 is more conducive to soaking up pressure and catching City than starting a tie a goal down.

Aside from the football his sides play he’s a really intriguing character. Has a real streak of honour and sportsmanship that is quite atypical, from anecdotes I’ve heard of him in South America where he would do things like apologise to referees and saying they got decisions right. His reaction to Spygate where he held that press conference (he also paid the 200,000 fine levied to Leeds personally) My Leeds supporting fan texted me when he heard Bielsa was holding an unscheduled press conference, terrified he was going to resign, then we got THAT

Guardiola's play style requires a commanding centre back (Puyol in his barca days, Kompany before this year). If he doesn't have that, anyone can beat his team. Arsenal + Aubameyang had 2 clear 100% goal scoring opportunities which he missed yesterday. So Arsenal should have beaten City 4-0 actually.

edit: I posted that after the second went in. Harry Kane has just smashed a screamer in for 3:0.
