Anyway important day down the bottom of the Premier League today. Brighton dominated Palace couldn't take or perhaps create their chances and got hit by a very painful sucker punch. That's real good for Palace despite looking shocking they are almost safe. Brighton feeling more and more in danger. Norwich's surprise win last night brings some life back into them and also throws Leicester city's guaranteed top 4 finish into a little doubt. West Ham winning, Bournemouth losing, Newcastle drawing lots of exciting action at the bottom.

Meanwhile Bayern and Hoffenheim are standing in the middle circle passing and juggling the ball around in protest because Bayern fans put up insulting banners twice. e: Okay I know why this is happening and also why exactly in this way, but it still is one of the most stupid things I have ever seen in a footy game.

They did, stopped it for 1-2 minutes when the banners were shown first while Frick yelled at the fans, and then sent teams into the tunnel for 10 minutes when it happened again. Happened earlier this season too during Hoffenheim-BVB game, apparently DFL/DFB decided ahead of this season that this is the way this will be handled from now on.

Well obviously those "fans" are retards and Hopp doesn't deserve this, but interrupting the match because of banners seems like quite an over reaction.

It's the same exact reaction that flares/bengalos get except that there is none of the danger which would actually make it reasonable. and the banner just called Hopp a whoreson, seriously there are worse banners regading the pyros, sure it's a small security risk, but it makes great atmosphere and if only the ultra fans do it in their stands it is fine. When was the last time someone got severly injured because of that On March 01 2020 02:03 clusen wrote: All softer measures have failed so far I say we just stay with the softer measures and let them have their banners and occasional pyros. It's part of football culture and it didn't really bother us that much during the last 100 years. There's no need to be so sensitive. We will get annoyed pretty fast if they start interrupting every match as soon as someone yells whoreson from the stands.

Both inhalation of fans and especially players, plus obviously visibilty issues both on the field and for the TV cameras that are actually funding the entire party.

You can still maintain that part of football culture without having so much of the negative stuff. You don’t lose all the vibrancy of club songs, friendly mocking of rivals etc by clamping down on stuff like racial/homophobic abuse and whatnot.

The banners against Hopp reached a point where I don't have any understanding anymore, they lost all political meaning, they are not a response to a recent event, it's not some drunk dude yelling out profanities out of emotion - there is no surrounding element of excuse for me.
