Dunno. I imagine they would have thrown foul tomatoes and eggs at it maybe. Not make a hellfire. But then again, I never understood this kind of fanatism, be it in Footi or anywhere else
Back when Jari Litmanen left his hometown club late in his career (the club got relegated, Litmanen still wanted to play Finnish Premier), his statue had a sabotage attempt of some kind. Litmanen himself joked about finally being able resist some knocks.

Back then hooligans or ultras just killed or hurt people very often. It is not like football fans are crazier now.
They decided to follow the well established tradition of picking a Scandinavian interim manager. Looks like Ljungberg has one year of experience as Arsenal U23 manager, I wonder how that'll play out.
And another one bites the dust, It's big news but not even slightly surprising. Emery finally fired.
I didn't see the Arsenal game against Southampton but I watched Match Of The Day. It looked like a club in the relegation zone absolutely hammered Arsenal at the Emirates. The Saints missed like 4 complete sitters and should have won by at least 3 goals. Some how Arsenal snatched a point. But Fuck me that was' a a ludicrous display. Arsenal have fallen below Yanited. Not a lot else to say.
edit: Not even slightly related or even topical. But can we just enact a rule that if you state the reason that you think Ronaldo is better than Messi (He's not) is because he won the Euro's with Portugal even though he wasn't on the fucking pitch you are a retard and are no longer able to comment on footballing matters. I've been driven crazy by people making the argument that Ronaldo has won the Euro's and Messi hasn't won an international competition this week. I'm close to ending it all (I'm not).

The Euros is more than just the finals. In group stages, Ronaldo scored the 2-2 and the 3-3 vs Hungary, ensuring that Portugal went through. I think it's fair to say that Ronaldo has done better with Portugal than Messi has with Argentina despite Argentina having more quality players on their team.

Now imagine being from Portugal and having to deal with that all the time.
You are allowed to like Ronaldo over Messi. I will disagree. But that is the worst arguement ever. But yeah. Let's not turn this into another 5 pages of messi vs Ronaldo.

Portugal went through as lucky losers having failed to win a single game against Hungary, Iceland and Austria! They then beat Croatia (after extra time), Poland (on penalties) and Wales to get to the final. In the final Ronaldo was on the pitch for almost 26 mins. He only scored 3 goals in the whole tournment 2 against Hungary and 1 against Wales. Some how this proves he is the greatest player on Earth? Realy?
Don't get me wrong. Congratualtions Portugal. That team was awful and some how they won the Euros. That's great for them It's like Greece winning in 2004. I have no idea how this hapened but congratualtions. But how is this proof of GOAT status. Portugal didn't play a single good team untill the final. He only scored 3 goals against awful teams and he wasn't even on the pitxh when they played the only tough opponent they faced.

Seriously congratulations on winning that tournment! Brits would fucking clebrate if we had won it. High five for not buying the Ronlado fan bullshit!
It's totally OK to like Ronaldo and even think he's the best. But that arguement is just plain dumb.
Back to Emery been fired that's more important right now!

Why not? We haven't had a Messi Vs Ronaldo debate in years.
