Are you arguing that they shouldn't try to fight for their positions?
It's fine that Max tried to defend, didn't make it work, and had to give the position back.
Lewis fucked himself trying to pass when Max slowed to let him
Oh please he even turned into Lewis as he was pushing him off the track. It was a left turn and he even turned right to push him even more away. You simply cant sweep this under "defending position".
He very much didn't. He was ahead into the braking zone. I'd even argue he had the right to the corner, but I'm also ok that he got told to give it back after.
Yeah he did, we will probably get videos of it where we can link it here. Im pretty sure im not imagining things.
We have gotten the video loads of time already. You either weren't watching, or you're clouded by your favouritism

That penalty won't be standing. He can't get a double penalty. I think Masi and the stewards simply didn't have time to talk it out. But at this point, it doesn't matter. He's P2 anyways

My point is more where are the penalties for Hamilton?

I think there's going to be a lot of talks about this entire race for the next week. We can't rule out any penalties, but honestly, probably he won't, as it's more exciting to have P1 and P2 equal on points going into the last race
Man, I don't generally dislike the commentators, but fuck Brundle for that offhanded comment at the end there. I know he's cheering for Lewis, and that's fine, but come on.
edit: And he repeats himself. His dear Lewis could do no wrong. It's all Max's fault no matter what. Again, I don't mind people having a favourite, I have mine as well. But it's ridiculous when commentators can't even stay the tiniest bit objective

It's hard to watch F1 without being at least a bit uncomfortable with how Hamilton/Mercedes always seem to have the better of the decisions
Do you guys even try to think logically here when you're accusing Lewis of hitting Max in the back? I mean he is behind him on points and makes no effin sense for him to try and do something stupid like that. Besides if you listened to the radios, Lewis had no idea what was going on at the time when Max was breaking. Im not blaming Max as well about it, but I do blame him for forcing him out of the track, for which I believe what the 5s penalty was for, otherwise why would they issue a command to let Hamilton pass.

Im long time McLaren fan, but whatever. Im all for fair racing and what I've seen from Max many times when Hamilton tries to overtake him is anything but. He drives dirty sometimes and I dont appreciate that.

You clearly either have some lingering dislike for Max, or some love for Lewis. You can't even look at any situation with the slightest bit objectivity. Max slowed down to let Lewis pass, we can at least agree on that much? Lewis had tons of room on the left, and decided that the best course of action was to crash into the back of Max.
I understand he didn't realize Max was letting him by, but if the car ahead of you slow down, why in the world would you not take the opportunity to pass him no matter what? There's zero reasons to linger behind, and even less of a reason to crash into the back of him. And then you're also arguing that Max deserved the penalty while also giving the position back? Come on. You're just proving my point about favouritism here.
Now tell me he didnt play dirty here. Go on amuse me.

Edit: nvm, you can just click on it. Yes, I will argue that Max didn't play dirty there. He was ahead into the corner (altough an argument could be made that he braked later to get himself there), and he was in the middle of the track when they collided. It's one of the least egregious defences we've seen this season. You can't possible be arguing that Max tried to crash Lewis out on purpose there? There were still several car widths of space when they touched.
You can argue the penalty, sure. But all we're seeing here is Max trying to defend, and it not working out completely, so he got told to give the position back (and then handed a 5 sec penalty, which I'm pretty confident will be removed due to double punishment. Not that it matters)

No one is saying Hamilton drove into Verstappen on purpose but that doesn't mean it isn't an offence that can't be penalized. Also Hamilton didn't exactly drove a whole clean race himself this one, care to comment on that as well?

Its the same situation like in Brazil, he made it even worse by turning right in a left corner when they were both out of the track already. That's dirty no matter how you wanna swing it. Im not saying he wanted to crash him, but turning right slightly 15s on the video was the dirty move.

Can we stop using Tu quoque fallacies when we argue about certain things? Mistakes by Hamilton dont excuse mistakes of Verstappen and vice versa. Im not gonna argue if Hamilton drove a clean race, but I'd argue that those few tricks he did during the red flags are nothing compared to reckless driving by Verstappen.

Verstappen steared to the right because otherwise he would've spun, he had to much speed. I think Hamilton should've been given the position here but it it wasn't really dirty racing by Verstappen. Also, sure, you could argue mentioning the driving of Hamilton is "whataboutism," but it's hard to not notice the way you comment about both drivers is quite different while the drivers themselves seem pretty evenly "dirty" in their driving.
