Seems like (if the infringements are true) Max should get a slap on the wrist and Hamilton should get a DSQ, but knowing the stewards, it might just end up being the opposite. Not saying the stewards are favouring Hamilton or anything, just that they are incompetent, dumb, and highly inconsistent

This decision will in all likelihood straight up seal the WDC (and honestly, a bit of a sad way to end the season after all this), they probably just want to be 150% certain, and give all benefits of a doubt. There's also the complication that Mercedes claims Max tampered with the rear wing, which, even if a ridiculous statement, also needs to be entertained. Experts needs to be called, tests needs to be done, lawyers needs to be involved etc. It's just a naturally long process

If the eventual decision is appropriate (Lewis DQ, Max no penalty or at least not one affecting his grid position). Somehow this organization, the FIA, has me worried. I know, rationally, they'll do the expected thing but I'm not 100% sure and evidently I'm not the only one which is saying something. Edit: Ah, phew, Max just got a fine.

This bit is important: The Stewards are satisfied [...] that there was insignificant force when Verstappen touched the wing. So Mercedes have no legs to stand on in their own infringements.

Watching Fp2, and the commentators haven't received the news yet. Still discussing the matter. I'm surprised the stewards made a correct decision for once EDIT: Worth noting, Hamilton is only disqualified from the qualifying results. He will still start the sprint race from the back (Or pitlane, not 100% certain how that works. Apparently it depends on if the wing they replace it with is identical or not. Also he'll have a 5 place grid penalty on Sunday for changing his ICE)

“Where did Hamilton finish?” “Fifth” “Hoho, okey!” “Yeah I know” It’s gotta be frustrating for a champ like Alonso to be driving in that Alpine and then seeing what Hamilton can do in that Mercedes. Impressive drive, I can see him finishing 3rd today unless Perez really delivers.

Impressive drive, I can see him finishing 3rd today unless Perez really delivers. There's every chance Hamilton could win today even. Third is expected. But judging by how far behind he was Max and Bottas yesterday, he'll have around 20 seconds to catch up, which is entirely doable in 3/4 of the remaining race. He looked so much faster than Max I don't think he'll have any issues passing on the straight, and it's not like Bottas is going to put up a fight. Any kind of safety car or red flag will of course also just hand him the victory on a silver platter.

He always lets his team down in every important situation he can edit: I somehow underestimated how fast Hamilton would clear the pack. I expected it would take a little bit more than 5 laps. Aaaaaand safety car... just because why not give Hamilton even more of an advantage?

Perez "bad start" to the season was mirrored by a few other others who swapped teams. He just needed half a season to get used to the car and now he is showing what he can do. I agree Perez performed way better than the last few RBR no2 drivers Lap 48 - That was some extreme defending from Verstappen. Both him and Hamilton went so far off the tracks

Not a huge fan of running people off track, especially not to the point of going off-track yourself edit: Welp, guess not
