And to George as well of course, apparently the Merc needs cold tracks to excel. Gonna be some fun parties tonight in Vegas I imagine.

What the actual fuck is it with these stewards when Max is involved. This is completely absurd. Lol. And a 1 spot grid penalty, which historically isn't a thing... They're just making shit up now. No official document have been released yet, but I'm really excited to hear what kind of bullshit excuse they're going to use for this one edit: Nvm, it's released. Doc bot is just being slow for whatever reason. The penalty was allegedly for "driving unnecessarily slow" during cooldown lap, and that he "didn't comply with the Race Director's Event Notes". But he got 1 grid spot instead of 3, because Russell also wasn't on a fast lap. So yes, it's bullshit. This isn't based on any precedent, as no penalty have ever been given for this kind of situation before. They really are just making it up on the spot. Love that

Love that Yeah, the "because Russell also wasn't on a fast lap" all previous times meant no penalty but no, this time it still is? Wtf. He even got a penalty point for it.

“This is our business,” he said when asked about recent events. “We'll do whatever is good for the FIA. So it's really none of people's business to interfere in ours. It's the results that we produce.” But pushed on drivers in particular wanting answers over why Wittich was dropped with three races remaining, Ben Sulayem said: “Do we have to tell them? When something in the teams changes, do they tell us? No, they don't. Nobody has to. We have the rules, we follow our rules. We don't follow someone else's rule. Simple as this.” What a grade A knobhead. How in the absolute fuck is it none of the driver's business what FIA does? And this from the man who's first power trip revolved around driver's jewelry and underpants This guy can not disappear fast enough, but I'm probably naive hoping he'll be voted out in the next FIA election next year

E: Hamilton a stop and go as well; Stop and go's are back on the menu bois? E2: Hamilton a drive through obviously, still not a simple time penalty though.

Apparently they only checked Lando because Max mentioned it on comms. No one else was checked by the stewards. Leclerc didn't lift either, and Sainz only barely lifted after a while If anyone ever wonders why "the drivers whine so much on the radio" this is why. Things are apparantly just not checked unless you do

Things are apparantly just not checked unless you do According to what I read the top 5 and a back marker (Bottas) were shown the double yellows and only Norris didn't lift. Not saying the stewards checked but apparently the on boards show the before mentioned. Not sure where I read it, if I find it I'll post a link. It seems the stewards only investigate if first race control "notes" something. E: Can't find the article I previously read but a quick search gives another that shows, with telemetry, that both Ferrari's at least, did lift. www.planetf1.com Lando's penalty was correct. Both he and McLaren don't dispute that at all. The problem was more about how the whole situation with the mirror was handled. If a (virtual) safety car was called the whole situation could've been avoided.

The stewards hands were tied on that one, the penalty for ignoring double yellows just is a 10s stop and go or a 30s time penalty when applied after the race.
