we have no quality strikers or defenders, and like 10 decent-ish midfielders. last two games vs azerbaijan ended 0-0 and 0-1, 8-0 and 5-1 in shots on target. just terrible. :'(

Does anyone know how ball choice is decided? I noticed they were using the new adidas ball (same ball new graphic) in the Germany Czech game but in the Poland Denmark game they are using a Nike ball. I assumed that every match would use the adidas? Or does it depend on sponsors of the teams playing?

Edit: Nevermind it looks like the ball choice is dependant on the home teams supplier.

yes home teams supplier decide in wc qualifiers. Premier Leagee and La liga have one uniform-ball (only color changes yearly) for few years. Bundesliga home teams can decide any ball they want (Bayern adidas, gladbach uhlsport etc), it can increase the "home advantage".

even the smallest differences would matter for pros imo.
how well the ball travels in the air, how well it swerves etc.

You know, I generally don't actually pay attention to the way the ball looks during games, but the Bundesliga actually has an official uniform ball as well.

Back when it was introduced (I think around 2011), there were complaints that it was extremely light and that it would cause a lot more goals because its movements in the air are more difficult to adjust to for goalies.

if you are great at longshot, flank and curve-freekicks you will notice even at 10th league. There is a big difference in the air, not much on ground and short air distances.

I mostly just remember goalies complaining about the jabulani.. a few strikers too and a couple complaints about long passes, but it was mostly just goalies saying it made it impossible for them.

I tried to watch the whole England game after school today but gave up after 60 mins it was so boring and I knew there where no more goals. I am now happily in Bed watching the ODI. England's Football team are officially more boring than the cricket team.

edit: fuck it another wicket. 105-5, They are equally shit though.

Haha, yeah England national team has a problem due to that. We are just silly and try to play a way we cannot yet, soon we will be able to but not yet. Now we still should be abusing or physicality and playing a big strong striker up front and crossing the ball in and dominating set plays.

We have Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch still who would do that job and some more. We have also other big strong strikers for teams who get over looked like Watford's Deeny etc there is more out there. We play with strikers now that cannot head the ball, i think Sturridge header goal vs Malta was his first header in about 18 months. Wallcott played on the other side has he ever scored a header? Vardy seems to even struggle in that department too. Rooney and Kane the best at headers we have and they do not play in the correct positions in the national team! Kane also struggling in national team as of late. However we just need to find a proper style, if it was me in charge right now i would run a 4-3-3 with Rooney as striker with Sturridge and Wallcott either side of him, that team of course is due to what is fit! A fully fit set up i would go 4-4-2 with Kane and Carroll up top and Sterling right midfield and someone who can cross on the left hand side and go that way. But alas we will just get Rooney centre midfield doing nothing and giving the ball away and weak strikers not imposing themselves up front and trying to play like Spain who took what 15 years maybe more to perfect the style of play they can do now!
