I'm not sure if it is all about the money. I was under the impression it was at least as much about power: To be elected to a FIFA office, you have to get the votes from the countries. And to get the countries to vote for you, you typically have to promise them something, and having a better chance to participate in a World Cup is about the best thing FIFA can offer. Ok, you can say that people want to be leaders because money, but I do think the motivations are usually more complex. Throughout the last decade, I think every single contender for FIFA president (secretary general or whatever) has brought up this idea. Maybe this time it is different because Infantino is the actual president (Though I think Blatter also suggested 40 teams at some point). Here in germany, I have read speculation Infantino may have some promises to keep. In all fairness, I can understand the nations from africa and asia who feel that they should have better chances. The african qualifier is basically a weighted lottery (which is partially the CAFs fault though), and then half of qualified teams disintegrate before the World Cup. It has to be frustrating for many people. Maybe better odds for qualifying would help to improve the overall situation. Maybe. Another problem with increasing the number of teams would be that I expect it to extend the tournament by roughly a week, which will surely make the football clubs very unhappy.

United are such a mess but Mourinho should be given time. What on earth is it going to be like if they sack him as well. in mourinhos defense the scoreline vs stoke is hardly representative of the potential quality we have in the team. hopefully things really start to click and the chances made are actually converted to goals.

I wouldn't say Mourinho has done anything wrong. It's a mess. They are some tallented players a lot of potential huge but it's not a team. It's a mess. I think he will get it sorted given a few transfer windows.

Thats not exactly a good argument since having bigger stadiums doesnt mean bigger attedance per se, just the "possibility" of having higher maximum. the Bundesliga has the top tier attedance for quite a lot of reason, not just because bigger stadiums and cheaper.
