sc is not as popular as before so obviously tl.net will see much lower hits than the peak years, but tl has branched out into ld, ll etc. and surely theres a new group of users that have interest in football? i know ld in particular is pretty lively for dota specific content. legends is pretty quiet and i have no idea about hearthstone and poker. football as a sport seems to have gotten a lot more stale for sure. i think cr7 vs messi has actually made the current football world pretty bland. there is literally no room for discussion for any other player because they arent worth discussing in the face of cr7 and messi. cr7 and messi has also already been argued to death so tbh theres just nothing new to talk about. team performances are also getting more predictable as are leagues and tbh i think entertainment quality of games has dropped overall as well. lately the only thing that seems to be a hot topic is how shit refs are lol

Monaco has more than one year left on the contract of all their key players but Falcao who seems happy to be the leader of a young squad and don't want to try again in the top clubs. How many of those players will stay for the next season? Same story for Tottenham, Ajax, Dortmund etc It's like there is a wall between tier 1 clubs and tier S which are CL contenders. Almost as soon as a players is good enough or close to be good enough to start a CL final, he moves. Just look at Real Madrid's bench, it could easily reach the round of 8 in CL... How long did Kanté stay at Leicester? One year. How long did Batistuta stay at Fiorentina? Nine years... We're just reaching the final form of post Bosman football era. Without some rules changes, a big chunk of the finest players will keep spending more time on the bench than on the field

In my case it's mostly about not being able to watch any football so whatever I could contribute I view as plain inferior to everybody's analytics in here.

In my case it's mostly about not being able to watch any football so whatever I could contribute I view as plain inferior to everybody's analytics in here. I mean, for my part I still read the thread, I just dont have time to contribute in ways I used to personally. Im sure other people are like that to. I still watch alot of games, but honestly if I did put in the time to discuss I would just be shitting on teams all day and thats not fun to do. Some of the stuff on display especially in the PL has been just god aweful and not many people here are particularly interested in whats going on in Spain and I dont follow Germany much but that has a healthy discussion here so I enjoy that most because it provides alot of insight I normally dont get. There are only so many hours in the day. And I suppose ill use that to segue into why the majority of my commentary would be negative. I am almost Facepalming at the thought that one of the two most entertaining and consistent+ Show Spoiler + (because Liverpool while entertaining have been frightfully bi polar and the inconsistency from all of these other "top" teams has been cancerous) Everyone keeps harping on this idea that the league is so competitive and thats great etc etc but then you have Chelsea sitting on 90+ points and that argument just doesnt stick for me. And really its been like that for a decade barring some exceptional seasons. Sure La liga is a 2 and possibly 3 horse race, but atleast its a race. Lower tier teams are better but in general the standard of the supposed upper echelon of PL teams has been abysmal. I made the argument a while ago that its more fun to have few teams playing at their peak and being somewhat dominant because thats what births legacies and stokes interest. If those teams suck it doesnt matter how good Burnely or Southampton or Everton get because their peaks will never be what top clubs should be managing on a routine basis. And if they are consistently upsetting top clubs there is a problem at the top clubs, it shouldnt happen. Not with the vast disparity in resources. Leicester for all their good qualities last season won because everyone else was garbage, United in Fergies last title were god aweful for half a season got Carried by one player, and then hit a run that got them a title while everyone shat the bed around them. And this has been a pretty consistent theme barring a few years. Incidently it also coincides with around the same period England went from being the most dominant country in Europe to nearly losing 4 spots. Im not going to discuss the reasons or possible reasons, maybe that can be a point to further discuss (although it has been done to death at this point). But the point of the entire wall of text is that the standard of elite teams just hasnt been what it should be to make me want to talk about them. Its highly unsatisfying to talk about teams that play like shit because again to reiterate I dont enjoy that, and analyzing it is almost painful. It also just makes you sound annoying.+ Show Spoiler + you know like when Pande will simply shit on teams who get scored on for having bad defense all the time. While alot of the time its true it personally starts to grate me at some point so I just ignore it. Im sure at some level other people feel the same way even if they dont realise it. Talking about football is always more fun when there is an abundance of good football to talk about, and there hasnt been.

When you give 2nd yellow for simulation you better make damn sure you're right. Add in a blatant handball, (close) offside on 2-0 and the completely ridiculous handling of the two pen/dive situations (2nd yellow for dive one side, no call no card for ronaldo other side). Once again comes with a bitter side note. In other games Yainted is drawing 0-0 at home, Championship playoff game is heading to extras and Monaco is 15 mins away from winning the league

Not given foul at the penalty box line against Benzema, bad offside call against Benzema... And btw that no call against Ronaldo was actually a penalty, as it was the one against Aspas. And of course the push in the back of Ronaldo after the so called "dive"... Should be straight red. So yeah, I love how the mistakes in favor of the opponents of Real are never mentioned.

I actually agreed with the previous poster that the ref has lost the game and listed the 3 situations that stood out the most for me, not that it was Real bias. I also never said ronaldo situation was a dive, just that two comparable situations were handled very differently in a very short time. But please be more of a victimized homer
