I think it was a pretty clear R2,3,5 for Nate, and R1,4 for Conor. And if anything, R2 and R3 could have been 10-8 for Diaz.

These judges man.

If round 2 was a 10-8 for Diaz round 1 is 10-6 mcgregor. He won the end of the round sure but he was losing 80% of it plus he got dropped.

Close fight, at the end of the day conor winning a relatively controversial decision sets up a trilogy perfectly for nate, money wise it's the best thing that could happen to him.

Conor knocked him down 3 times. Straight hard hits. Nate got a couple in for sure. But that takedown doesn't excuse getting rocked 3x in a fight. And it was in the last 10 seconds of the fight. Conor defended how many? The strikes were close but Nate didn't have many except when he pressured on the fence. That was Conor's fight the whole way.

I agree. it was really interesting to see how the dynamic of a fight can change within a couple of seconds.

Maybe I'm giving too much weight to the last 90 seconds, but McGregor was 15-30 seconds from getting knocked out there, and on the verge for the last minute.

If i remember well nate got knocked down twice in R2... he came back later in the round but i could see the judge giving the round to mcgregor. I think R2 is where the fight was won. R1 R4 conor, R3 R5 diaz R2 tipping the scale to a conor win.

every judge agreed on who won every round. 1 judge gave diaz a 10-8 3rd round creating a draw.

prolly because conor won the round. the judging is not perfect but its a lot better than it was 5+ years ago. it'll be interesting to see if Mcarthy has anything to say about this decision. He is quite vocal about the strengths and weaknesses of MMA judging.
