I'd love to see Vettori match up with Adesanya again, the dude is built like a golem and has put on an impressive streak of wins. He seems to be a bit more durable & less pressure-based than Paulo Costa so I feel like being tentative in the early rounds won't hurt him as much as it did Costa.
Other than Vettori, when Adesanya-Whittaker gets paired up, if Uriah Hall wins his rematch against Weidman, I wouldn't be surprised if they put him in as backup. He's quietly put up a 3 fight winning streak & may not fair too badly against a kickboxer like Adesanya. If Hall has to fight Whittaker, I'd be hard-pressed to bet on Hall winning.
Am I alone in being excited to see Usman-Masvidal? Usman seems like the type of person to prove a point so maybe he'll keep the fight standing to bust up Masvidal.

I don't really care for Usman vs Masvidal, just expecting a dominant performance from the champ. The rest of that card though, damn excited for everything else. Weili vs Namajunas has the potential to be another classic like Weili vs Jedrzejkczyk.
I hope that Andrade gives some trouble to Shevchenko too, at least she takes the initiative, so it should be explosive at the very least.

These low leg kicks are getting super dangerous both ways...

She seemed surprised about getting booed, it makes me sad for her. I wonder how much that got in her head.

so there is still no chance of a Jones Izzy fight? they are listed as only 2kg away.

No way is Jones only 2kg heavier that Adesanya right now, he's around 250 pounds since he switched to heavyweight. It'd require a drastic move from both of them to meet in the middle ground.
It might be one of those fights that will never happen, who knows.

the UFC has to stop interviewing fighters right after they've been flat-lined. I think they used to have a policy of not interviewing KO-ed fighters.

Realizing you're surrounded by 20,000 people who are vehemently rooting against you has to be emotionally draining. I don't care who you are. Unless you're a Colby Covington who's embracing that angle to promote himself. Even then, deep down I don't think a guy like Colby feels good about himself.
Masvidal is a victim of his own hype. He had a run of a couple fights (and media-friendly moments "three piece with the soda") that launched him into superstardom, then he started loving the smell of his own farts too much. Recently he's been pretty corny with his talk, and he dropped his hands about 15 seconds before he got ktfo.

That was a crazy fight card, as much as I am a little wary of Covid precautions, having the crowd back & making noise felt like it was normal again.
Poor Weidman, I hope he ponders retirement & becomes a coach with Ray Longo. He doesn't have anything left to prove as he's already been a champion & has fought some of the best fighters during our time. It's unfortuante for Uriah Hall, just as he had a winning streak, he has a freak injury derail his biggest fight so far, save for possibly his Mousasi fight. Hopefully Hall gets another scheduled fight ASAP so his training camp isn't a waste & he can still put his name in the hat for next in line after Vettori & Whittaker.
I thought Andrade would have more success with the stand-up but wow, this just shows Shevchenko is just another tier. It really feels like she's the Jon Jones/GSP/Anderson Silva of the division, they keep lining her up with contenders & she just keeps knocking them out of the park. The finish, especially, reminded me of pre-champion Jon Jones with the crucifix & disgusting elbows. If Murphy wins her fight against Calderwood, she has to be next in line.
Strawweight seems more packed than any other women's division so I don't think this hurts Weili's stock too much, especially since we know she can hang with some of the better fighters. I'd have to figure Mackenzie Dern is next to fight Namajunas.
I'm so glad Usman got the finish with his stand-up, his jab against Burns was like a rocket & though he had some looping sloppy overhand rights that he threw, I figure he was just throwing his entire weight into those to prove a point & once he got settled, his better fight IQ & relentlessness won the fight. After Covington, I hope they match him up with Thompson just to see how he'll fare, though I see it playing out how Woodley-Thompson 1 went.

Woodley and Usman were both very, very boring fighters to watch. Usman is fixing that, though.
