He was definitely wobbly and kinda lost, I was just saying he was trying to improve his position and wasn't completely out of it, we've seen fights that were stopped a lot later. TJ was trying to defend himself still, the thing is he lost track of Cejudo, so his defence wasn't doing anything.

I'm glad Cejudo won too, he went really prepared for the fight and it showed.

For Calderwood, if you remove her last 2 Strawweight matches, she's on an impressive roll. Her main opponent for a title fight is Jessica Eye, who sure won her last 3 matches, but all 3 were decisions, and 2 of them were split decisions at that? So there is a definite argument for Calderwood to either get Shevchenko, or at least a match with Eye.

Shame how Fedor lost. But you can't do this forever. Happy for Swagger though, I always enjoyed watching him in the WWE back in the day.

I think you're kinda unfair there, it was his first ever MMA bout, you can't throw him against too strong of a competition right at the start, it's one of the mistakes the UFC is doing a bit too much recently, to throw young prospects against top dogs way too soon (Till, Costa soon...). Okay Swagger isn't young, but experience wise he's so fresh, so let him accumulate experience.

I feel like I mentioned the impending blending of WWE and UFC with jobbers and big names that aren't actually great fighters but great showmen that are never put against people that have a real shot of winning (until the ends of their careers).

Done right it might not suck

I would rather not have prospects fighting each others too early either, that's the best way to get rid of one early. Even if both had potential to begin with. But since he showed to be able to handle this kind of adversity, you can give Hager less of a pushover for next fight, for sure.

And I don't think that the UFC has too many "showmen", my main issue is the fact that the champions and high rankers have huge power over who they are going to fight. Long gone is the time where you had to clear the division as a high ranker, and everyone was fighting everyone.

I do agree with your first point, and that's why we usually have a preliminary and a early preliminary card, in addition to all the fights outside of those big federations. It's a good thing we don't have to watch all the early fights in most of the fighters careers. Sure once in a while you'll have the oddity like Swagger a few days ago, Gökhan Saki, CM Punk... But most of the time, the main cards are giving us meaningful fights.

I don't think we'll see many fighters with a win/loss ratio of around 1 anymore either. There are a lot more fighters now, meaning a lot more fights too, in a more local settings. Once we get to see them, they usually are kinda established. Only exceptions again being those personalities.

I should take a look at Bellator's heavyweight lineup too, with their year long tournament they might have needed to go for a free agent for this fight (Kiser had 5 fights with his amateur fights included). Overall they just didn't want to take any risk and gauge the guy first before sending competent fighters. I agree they were overly cautious, or that it wasn't a main card fight, but the commercial value took over those variables.

Edit: If you look at Saki's opponents, it was nothing great either, Rountree Jr. is okay but his first opponent had a negative win ratio (only counting UFC fights) against fighters with negative win ratio (within the UFC too). Not 1 pro fight & 4 amateur fights level though, I have to admit.

Disappointed that Cain got KO'd so quickly. Definitely my favourite Heavyweight of all time. Such shame injuries get him from fighting more often. I would have liked to have seen prime Cain fight Ngannou but that's not meant to be.

Still missing some fights from the preliminaries but this is such a good event, especially compared to UFC 234. That one was so lackluster.
