Firstly. He barely played in the PL, and he never was going to with arguably the best center back pairing in Europe at United at the time. He probably has like 200 minutes of PL game time tops.
He played it up a bit because its an interview. Even if he truly believes that his reasoning is suspect.
Finally, hes also wrong. Mark Hughes Stoke dont play like Pulis Stoke at all. Not even a bit. They have more ex Barca rejects than any other team in the Pl for starters. English teams dont play all that "hard" unless they are being coached by Allardyce or Pulis.
So clearly he isnt even watching the PL. So I would take it with a grain of salt.

Either the master remains unbeaten against his admirer or the mighty Bayern have fallen (while still being the favourite for the championship but fuck that we need to sell sensations.).
