And says this on England; "Bad losers," Blatter said. "In Great Britain they have made this beautiful game, they have introduced fair play. But there was only one vote going for England. They were eliminated in the first round. Nobody wanted to have England." Source So pissed! FIFA is an utter shambles!! How can this man go on Russian TV as still the FIFA president and openly speak about a World Cup being done and dusted before the vote has taken place...TWO OF THEM?! What in the hell kind of corperation has FIFA been allowed to create. | ||

Its like "man i really hate Scottland that country sucks lets give them money so i can visit them." I dont get the hate on Fifa. I mean yea they suck but this is a private organisation selling a product and they can sell it to whoever they want. What makes me angry is that the French president just casually spends time with these people. Shoudnt he work on i dont know world peace? Meet with Obama and Putin to reduce nukes on the planet? Or do his fucking job instead of eating with corrupt rich people? Yea everything what Fifa does is rigged and currupt who cares. Its not their fault that a country like Brazil spends ten billion on 4 week of "fun" (well more like 3 weeks until the Germans came  ) instead of building schools or helping the poor. | ||

To openly admit it, is just down right disgraceful thinking he can just get away with it again and again. I get your point but u need remember it doesn't say anywhere u need to buy a world cup to get you're country the gig. Or maybe England would have done it or Netherlands/Australia/USA etcetc. | ||

So they take all sorts of exemptions take the benefits of a non profit and operate as a for profit organizations (actually its crazy how much money they make and how fucked the non 1st world country's that host world cups get) There are a number of factors involved. But they are not "selling" the world cup. If anything, the country's are supposed to sell themselves, so you get awarded the world cup. Thats why you have a vote system. thats why Fifa has a list of "requirements" that country's need to meet. Thats why they have inspectors that check your facilities and your capacity. If you are just going to sell it. You dont really need to have an exhaustive ballot system. Regardless of other external parties and their infractions, FIFA is a cesspool and rotten to the core that is openly saying fuck you to the world and making a shit ton of money doing it. | ||

Lets imagine a perfect world: No corruption @ Fifa, no Blatter, no Politics, no dictators buying big sports events, not slave labour to build stadiums, equal civil rights for everyone, everyone who wants such an event gets the same chance. Here is my theory: Quatar would have and should have won against England. The football world cup is, like every "modern" world wide sports event, a descendant of the Olympic Games. The basic idea of these was basically "ok our countries dont really like each other but how about we play games and do sport against each other instead of stuff like killing and war". So it made always sense to rotate these games as equally as possible so every part of the world can participate and host it. If the argument "there is a bigger tradition for... in... applies every Olympic event would be in Greece". The World Cup was never in a muslim country, Quatar never hosted a wc and neither did the middle east. Which could maybe use some "instead of beheading each other how about playing football?"-spirit. It wont become bankrupt because of it (hello Brazil), it is one of the very rare cases were it helps the economy by diverding their economic income sources (tourism and oil and oil instead of oil, oil and oil). Its pretty safe, infrastructure shoudnt be a problem and yes it is stupid but you can do a WC in the winter. Is this unrealistc? Yes. Did they bought the WC? Yes. Is FIFA corrupt? Dunno maybe? Blatter seems to be a honest guy right? Does a WC in a dictator run place with a population of 90% immigrants which have zero rights suck? Yes. The fact that the system Fifa and World Cup is terrible does not mean that England has more right to this event then any other country on the planet. If you take this in consideration it makes a lot of sense to spread voting power to Asia, Africa and the Middle east so the "rich west" could not just "buy" every sports event. It just turned out badly. | ||
