The problem is that messi has to carry everything, from the creativity to creating space and normally scoring. The team is always watching and expecting what he will do. In Barcelona he is the best addition to an already working team.
Once or twice Argentina scores without him, but that does not happen often.

wow Di Maria... But yeah ball possession has to be above 80%

That was a free goal if the man in the middle actually keeps up. Was your earlier vitriol correct and it was Higuain?

Staying just a bit behind lets him give messi a clean pass so he can resolve better and score.

I don't get how Jamaica was chosen to participate in Copa America. Weren't there more competitive teams ? :/

So bad, with messi creating chances instead of being served they just can't score to save their lives. Higuain and di maria, damn.

The fact that Gold Cup is right after doesn't help, I'd have loved to see Costa Rica for example after their good World Cup last year.

Afc, Caf and Uefa all had WC qualifying, NA has the Gold Cup. Ofc would not really have improved the competition I guess. :p The best idea to solve it would be to have the Gold Cup every 4 years and have 6 NA teams participate in a 16 team Copa America. Or just combine the American confederations and get it over with.

Yeah thats the reason Mexico sends their B team to copa america, it overlaps with the copa oro since some years ago, and this happens with a lot of different confederations. They'd have to sort the schedule out if they want better invited teams competing on the copa america, but I don't think thats something the comebol actually wants.
