What part of this is he missing?

also the "the science machine gave a number, but in my opinion the science machine is wrong" for every piece of data he used. He could have cut out 13 minutes of that video and just done the end bit and it would have been fine

I wasn't talking about that video so much as a few of the other ones I watched.

Gym christmas ideas for girls? My gf finally started going to the gym and working out properly in the past few weeks. I'm getting her some shoes she wanted but I dunno what else to get her. I doubt she wants a bunch of hookgrip T shirts, knee sleeves, adistars etc. that I would get someone who is a serious lifter.

Leggings / yoga / workout pants always work I would say.

It's really all about the outfits. My wife also likes having gloves and a callous tool.

I agree with this

I had a T-shirt idea just yesterday. "Swole year old". Might work better for birthdays.
I always wanted my own barbell, if your GF is anything like me it'll be the best christmas ever.

Can't go wrong with lulu lemon their workout stuff is awesome. Other workout clothes too. I got a girl who was a more serious power lifter a customized belt but.... "more serious lifter" is the key there.
In other news I'm up 12 lbs in the last 25 days (202 to 214) which is back to my all time high from around March of last year. 12 hour night shifts are great for eating habits. Time to make new gains.

Didn't Infinite Elgintensity do a video on those shoes?
Speaking of shoes, what do you wear for deadlifting?

Speaking of shoes, what do you wear for deadlifting? I don't really have a lot of respect for his videos, but I've only seen a few of them. I remember reading that the 2.0's aren't a bad lifting shoe, just not as good as the adipower/romaleo.
I deadlift in socks. If I have to wear a shoe for some reason, I have some very thin innov-8s that I wear.

Haha I keep jokingly telling her thats what I'm going to get her (she has 0 interest in having one). Treated myself to one this year though.

Its an article designed to grab views and sell ads, as are all newspaper/magazine articles. That's why the language and conclusions used in that article are very different from the language and conclusions in the scholarly articles it links to or cites. There's some good information there, and some very strong misinformation as well. Some of it is straight up broscience, and some of it is good actual science that's just presented in a misleading manner. I would be more specific, but I have to get to the gym since it closes in an hour.
.8-1g per lb of bodyweight in protein is a commonly cited number as being "enough" for athletes.
If you're worried, you can just not use protein powder.

it's a trash article in the never ending string of diet/health articles. it would take too long to debunk the whole thing you will have to select specific assertions that you are concerned about
