Mike Malone was a good coach for that team. He actually had them playing D for once. Just awful.

Being 11-13 without a top 25 player for 9 of the games seems like a major accomplishment. And now they're looking at Vinny Del Negro. Good fucking game. If the complaint was offensive philosophy, what the hell do you expect Malone to do without athletic ballhandlers and 3pt shooters, and with an all-star center? Their defense needed to improve, but that's not going to be a fast team.

They were 9-4, so they've gone 2-9 in the last 11 games. Losing Cousins was a huge blow though. I disagree with the move, but I kinda see where it came from. Why don't they bring in someone like George Karl, there are quite a few solid coaches out there who would probably enjoy getting to coach Gay and Cousins. The Kings have a solid team to build around.

I do know that Ty Corbin and Vinny Del Negro are terrible coaches, if they are who the Kings are looking to replace Malone. This is so bad.

The front office-coach relationship became increasingly strained through Las Vegas summer league in July, especially once Ranadive and D'Alessandro made a play to trade for Detroit forward Josh Smith, sources said. The owner told people outside the franchise that, no, his coach didn't want Smith, but Ranadive didn't care. He wanted Smith's talent, and it was on Malone to make it work Malone was the smartest guy in the FO. Jesus christ. Rudy Gay, Cousins AND Josh Smith?

And who the fuck wants Josh Smith, hes the best example of overpayed-inconsistent garbage. Thinks he is Dirk, taking too many shitty shots. Keep him in Detroit until he retires. edit: I should've added overrated but that is known.
