With OKC only a game back i'd say that the brow is going to miss the finals again. To me Parker has been looking old for years. But the spurs always seem to surprise. Gotta love how Duncan and Kobe, two first ballot Hall of Famers with nothing to prove in this game are both diving for a loose ball in overtime of a meaningless regular season game. Nothing but respect for the Spurs but goddamn did this win feel good.

Oh. I worded that badly. I don't know about seeding. I just meant that the top 8 are pretty much decided in some order. What the actual order is that will go down to the wire.

They're 7th worst in the league now, barring some ping pong miracle, they're losing their draft pick. Whether the Lakers are able to get back to the top via free agency in 2-3 years (I believe they'll do it), you can't take for granted an opportunity to get a lottery pick, when it's basically dangling in your face. If you look at the best teams in the league right now: Golden State built its core through the draft (Curry + Klay), OKC built through the draft (Durant / Westbrook), the Wizards (Wall + Beal), Portland (Aldridge + Lillard), Chicago (Noah, Rose, Butler, Taj), the Spurs (Duncan, Parker, Ginobli, Leonard), Memphis (Gasol, Conley) The only really dominant team recently that hasn't built its core through the draft was Miami. Obviously these teams aren't building exclusively via the draft - Golden State is a perfect example. They drafted their 'core' in Steph + Klay. They brought in Bogut, David Lee, Iguodala via free agency/trades. LA got a lottery pick last year - who knows how good Randle can be. Maybe he'll end up in Z-Bo territory and be a championship caliber player. They have a chance at someone like Okafor, Towns, or Mudiay (? he's kinda nebulous), which would give them a base to build around for almost a decade. At that point, all they need to do is add 1-2 pieces in free agency, and they already have what could be a solid 2nd unit (Lin, Young, Davis). Not getting the lottery pick this year is going to hurt them, because it's basically low hanging fruit right now. #GOWIZARDS

I'm not sure they're bad enough to make top 5. Can they out tank 76ers, Minny, Pistons, NYC, CHarlotte, Utah? It'll be tough. I'm getting a little excited about the Dubs. It's crazy they have four of their starters in the top 40 of RPM as of now.

mavs haven't beaten a west top 8 yet. fools gold. i'd put portland there too but i think they're a much better team that plays solid on both ends.
