I think he assembled a team that he knows will lose a lot of games even without him instructing them to tank. Kupchak is tanking on purpose. The coaches and players are not. The coaches and specially the players are never in on tanking though. And the only thing he can do is tank now. Even if he didn't want to originally. But how can he not know that team wouldn't make the playoffs? I pretty much agree he knew it all along. Clips need to step it up. Get Jordan involved a little bit in the halfcourt maybe.

I don't think anyone in their right mind thought the Lakers would make the playoffs. With a full lineup under the absolute best circumstances, before the season, I think people pretty much figured that at best they'd be able to take the 9th seed. Now that the season has started, it turns out that Sacramento, New Orleans, and Utah are actually significantly better than expected - so take that 9th and move it down to at least 12th. There's just no way LA will be higher than 12th even under the best circumstances. Every other team in the West has a young star (or two). I'd take 2 young potential all-stars over Kobe right now.... I don't know about tanking. The Lakers obviously are in a "top level free agent signing or nothing" mode. I'm not sure they anticipated this summer working the way it did; and now they're in a crapshoot because of it. Nothing they can do to not 20-62 this year barring some kinda stupid Pau Gasol miracle trade, and even that wouldn't really save their season. Better off keeping their pick + getting the Houston pick + trying again in free agency next summer. Personally, I think JLin+Nick Young+Ed Davis would be the cornerstone of a great 2nd unit, provided they had enough of a roster that those guys could actually be the 2nd unit.

To make LeBron regret his homecoming on his every single day with cavs. And I don't know why this "LeBron fans be hatin on Kyrie" is the new thing right now. Kyrie was, is and will always be Kyrie. Nothing more, nothing less. This is what happens when nobody on the team actually gives a single flying fuck on the defense. Off topic: Any team would be a whole lot better than cavs with three first overall picks in the last 4 drafts. Cavs just suck at drafting.

Kyrie was the consensus #1 pick of the 2011 draft and might still end up being the best player from it. Bennett had a rough first year but it's too early to tell, same for Wiggins, and they were able to get Kevin Love off both picks. Turning those 2 players into Kevin Love isn't terrible at all.

but problem with love being invisible is just lebron being invisible, since lebron is the one that is supposed to be so disruptive and defense attention grabbing that love gets open. they are also not doing any of the pick and roll stuff with lebron and love at all. yea, love is a nice stretch 4, but you can't have lebron playing like a stretch 4 as well. he gotta drive

A crippled muskrat could get more than 0 assists playing with Lebron and Love.
