btw compared to Di Maria and the rest of the team, James is awfully slow. He needs to work on that.

If only Ludogorets would have gotten some well deserved points out of the first 2 games T_T

It's always somewhat irked me that every night like this in the British press we get some knee jerk opinion pieces about how the English league is declining. The CL representatives certainly aren't as good relative to their European counterparts for sure, but that does not = the entire league. You give Chelsea and Man City the lion's share of the TV money like Madrid and Barcelona get and we'll see what happens, hell their owners wouldn't even have to inject cash ![]() Simeone's Athletico and what they accomplished will go from being very impressive to fucking miraculous when we look back at this period 10 years from now.

The Premier League is declining at the top end. The overall quality of the league is very high because they share TV revenues, but the top PL teams are clearly weaker then the big 3 of Real/Bayern/Barca. Ultimately considering how wealthy the top PL teams are this is pretty disappointing, they should be doing better in Europe. I think the management is not up to scratch. This goes all the way from youth academy (non-existent in England or at least not utilized [in the case of Chelsea/City]), to transfers, to tactics. I think on the whole English teams need to take a look at themselves or risk falling behind.

According to transfermarkt site Real/Barca/Bayern squads have net worth around 500 mln pounds, meanwhile 4th team (Man Utd) is almost 100 mln below them. If you consider that it's not that surprising that those teams are always considered the favorites for CL win above everyone else. Also Guardiola sucks since he only managed 500mln autowin teams!

A lot of Barcelona or Bayern players got so expensive by playing for their respective clubs. Müller, Lahm and Schweinsteiger weren't worth a lot when they started playing for Bayern.
