Well, at least they didn't throw out our team for no reason... I can't imagine how Legia fans feel. And Celtic looked really pathetic, too. Surely they didn't deserve to play in the play-offs.

Polish fans are used to that our teams will find a way to fail so there will be disappointemnet but it won't last long imo.

In 2010 Debrecen fielded an illegible player for the last minutes of a match where they were leading 4-1 on aggregate, and were fined £15,000. This game, it was the final 2 minutes of a match where Legia was leading 6-1 on aggregate. Judgments that are so heavily fixated on the letter of the law as not to take into account that there's just no way there was any malicious intent whatsoever.. they suck. I think you can even state that "if there's any doubt whatsoever whether the team stood to benefit from it then the team is automatically disqualified", but there just is no doubt whatsoever. Sorry I didn't read that bbc link. In that case I'm really puzzled why they didn't go with a fine. I thought it was a precedent.

Since then Legia have played 3 matches in Europe, I mean it is entirely plausible that no one had any idea they would get punished if he played. I know we are getting into murky waters here but at the end of the day he didn't play 3 games. They beat Celtic hard in both games and they were supposed to be the first Polish club to get into the Champions League in 18 years. Ok fine them, but I highly doubt they would put in an illegible player on purpose after they had the match in the bag. If a banned player isn´t named in the 25 man match squad he doesn´t serve his ban. The rule is simple, and Legia screwed up royally. Uefa screwing up even more with the insane punishment though, surely this will get overturned.

edit: I missed the equalizer because the stream went down but apparently its 1:1 now edit 2: Cardiff where the better team for most of the first half but Blackburn are bossing up the second. edit 3: It finished 1:1 some good chances, nice flow to the game with Cardiff starting strong and Blackburn finishing the better . But it wasn't the most exciting game the world has ever seen. Anyway English League football has finally started. Plenty of fixtures tomorrow.

That's 1.5 million less than Roma reportedly offered, looks like he wants to be in the EPL. He's undergoing his physical in London today. I don't understand this move from the player's point of view. He'll have to compete with Naughton and Ryan Fredericks just to be Walker's backup.

Adidas said that RM's math is wrong and the numbers are probably lower... Not that people bought only 900 shirts.

Yea I don't really agree with it either, at least it made sense for him to go to Roma. Seems like an investment with intent to sell in two years by Tottenham.

Which is actually the same method used to determine game and album sales, because "sold to consumer" is tougher to trace than shipped to shop. Especially with football shirts, because name printing is done separately, so at least it wasn't made up. However Madrid only used a single shop which is just bad statistics, kindergarten stuff really. But Madrid wanted to sensationalize the signing.
