It is Real Madrid. The average age of Real Madrid supporters is 60+ years, so if they shout too much they may have a heart attack. They prefer to eat sunflower seeds instead of cheering xDDD
There are some awesome la liga crowns like Athletic Bilbao, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, etc. The Sevilla/Betis are very active too.

I agree. This is better than watching a uneventful Chelsea win vs stoke in a rainy 1-0 game. So dull.
Chelsea not beaten Stoke 1-0 in a rainy dull game since 1985 we beat them at home 1-0 twice in 2012 but not in Stoke. But even if it was a 1-0 there still would of been more atmosphere than there was at the Bernabéu last night. It was deadly quiet.
Also i have no idea how Real could have played so badly, 80% and had like 4 clear cut chances, 2 they scored from. Pretty shite really. Real before winter break looked like gods now they look like the first few games of the season when they were being beaten 4-2 by Real Sociedad...without Moyes in charge

I watched Valencia - Real the other week and the atmosphere was awesome, probably just a case of the broadcaster lowering the crowd volume. Most of the TV stations seem to think people would rather listen to 2 muppets 'analyze' the game instead of the fans supporting their team.
It's the RM crowd that just sucks balls really. Sadly the Camp Nou atmosphere isn't that much better unless it's a really big game (and we are not losing lol).
Is this the case because there are a lot of tourists at the game or was this always the case?

Tourism does have an impact (I remember being at the Camp Nou many years ago and the shouting was great). But tbh we catalans have always been kinda quiet people.
Another and probably bigger reason is that Laporta banned the Boixos Nois (the hooligans) from entering the stadium because of the violence cases they were linked with. They were the heart of the shoutings, wave starters, raised huge flags, etc.

Do you dislike the latter happening or were they causing too many problems? There is a growing trend in Holland as well to ban out the fanatics, but sometimes these guys turn out to be a real boost for the atmosphere.
When Defoe first joined Tottenham, he openly stated that he was using the club as a stepping stone to something bigger. Since then, he has joined Portsmouth, Toronto, and now Sunderland. Oh, Jermain!
To be fair to Arteta, he has a really good spell before he got injured again. Was one of our best players, then. It's a shame he has to be shifted into the DM role, as there are better players than him everywhere else in our midfield, but he has done a pretty decent job at it.
Excited to see Kramaric in the PL. Heard he's clinical as fuck. Hope Leicester can stay up, so I don't looks like an idiot for saying that they will earlier. :D
I am a proud American fan right now, if anyone watched the NYRB town hall today, who says Americans aren't passionate about this sport It had swearing, shouting, and BS from the higher ups all rolled into one.
It's time for the Group A show down in the Asian Cup Hosu Vs Hanguk. I haven't seen any of the is tournment so far as the time slots are pretty bad for viewing from Europe. I hear Korea have scrapped through their first two games 1:0 but could yet top the group by beating Australia. A few years ago Korea would have been strong favourites to beat Australiaa. But I think Australian soccer has come on leaps and bounds whilst Korean chukgu has declined if anything.
edit: Korea have scored Ee Junghyup from a crazy angle. Keeper should have stopped it for my liking.
edit 2: Korea won this. Sorry about no updates. KSL was destracting me.

I disagree, both have declined significantly, Australia had improved to becoming a stable pick for a ro16 qualification in a mid level to decent group.
This year was their weakest squad in three world cups. They are in a rebuilding process. So the leaps and bounds was 10 years ago they have failed to build on it.
South Korea has never been a consistently great team. 2002 as nice a story as it was, was more of a miracle of bad refereeing than anything else. Scanadlously so.
And they have been in steady decline since that performance. Japan is the only team that has remained somewhat stable.

I'd have agreed with all of your statements before WC2014. However, Japan's performance there was so so bad and surprising that I can not agree with Japan being stable. I really thought we finally reached the point of consistency but that tournament...

come on. sick of people blaming the refs for 2002 and claiming it is the only reason korea did well. there were definitely calls that helped korea, but if you actually watched them play (i recently watched the whole tourney run), that team was miles ahead of the current one. they actually did play some beautiful football

Japan 2002 was actually more impressive than South Korea in everything but the result. That was our golden generation, we dominated Asian football, even got 2nd in CC2001 and still we lost to Turkey in Ro16 because we did not have ref help. South Korea would and should have met the same end
