And moyes had vidic rio and evra (experience and a settle back four albeit aging), he also inherited a title winning team on terrific form while Van gaal inherited 7th place. But i guess that ruins the joke

Van Gaal also is forced to play with his like.. 6th and 7th choice defenders?

It just shows how unfair it was for Moyes. No way he would have finished 7th if he got 150m pounds worth of transfers...

I mean with Woodward around you never know how he's gonna spend the money.

Are you saying Untied fans didn't want to be like City and Chelsea and that’s why you let Moyles have a crack. But since that didn't work out its fine to spend all the money you have spent and to try and be successful again that way instead? United fans certainly can’t claim to be any different to City or Chelsea fans by supporting a club that buys success because that’s exactly what United are now doing.

Well United doing it now is fine in my eyes because they have a history and a reputation to hold up. Having done so well in the past with "mediocre" players (or just not bought for huge amounts) kinda legitimizes it.
Literally nobody I know irl knew about Chelsea or ManCity before the big bank accounts bought them.

People so blind to the fact Yanited has been the biggest spenders in the top division for years. Before the "big money" that came in during the late 90s in terms of player transfer fee's etc. Yanited in two seasons in 2001 and 2002 spent 60million on Veron and Ferdinand which would only "just" get beaten by Chelsea when they spent 30million and something on Shevchenko in 2006. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progression_of_British_football_transfer_fee_record
Now they also currently hold the record again due to their money spent on Di Maria. They have never just gotten by from their academy they have always bought the best players. Just the same as Arsenal and Liverpool back in their glory days where at the top of the market. The reason they aren't "famous" for doing it in the short history people look back to on here is that they had this guy called Sir Alex Ferguson who was quite short of a genius for how he got the likes of Cleverley John O'Shea Barthez to able to win him titles. Oh and Wes Brown guy averages 1 own goal per game this season or something lol
This is by all means me not defending what Chelsea have done, i am not stupid i know Roman bank rolled Chelsea to the pinnacle, but we were not a million miles away like City or PSG were when they bank roll came in. We had just qualified legitimately for the Champions League before Roman bought us.

Then you missed player-coach Vialli!

I don't really see too much wrong with the rich clubs spending the most money, thats just what happens in football. I do get panda's point though it does seem quite disingenuous for United fans to say thats not how their club works.

Ty Greg xD I don't mind Real spending 101001million on players every year because they have earned the right too, same with Yanited. What i can't handle is when people start saying Chelsea City and PSG are the only ones doing it TT Or started it first

Yea everytime Fergie whine about financial muscle I lolled. He was just as guilty, its just that the spending average wasnt as inflated as it is now.

How did you come to support your favourite clubs?
For me, it was a little over 20 years ago when I moved into a new housing estate. It was called Chelsea Village. lol... Back then, the EPL was shown on my local free-to-air sports channel (FREE!! gone are the days >.>)
I managed to catch some Chelsea games and fell in love with Zola!
Although I guess being from a country or region with little to no football talent, and EPL being the big football export in the day, it was easy to follow an English club.

I came to follow Chelsea when my dad introduced it to me when i was 8 (1998) and i watched Chelsea for the first time. From then on it was Chelsea every week :D Zola Vialli Wise Desially Lebouf Deschamps, damn such outstanding players over the years.
But yeah i remember in 2000 when Chelsea were getting beaten by Barcelona cuz fkn Rivaldo and Anders Frisk xD

I remember that game! One of my first non-feyenoord champions league games I watched. Hesp made a huge error allowing Flo to score and Rivaldo missed a penalty, in the end Barcelona did enough in overtime to win the match.
