It probably has to do with Brazil and Colombia both not gaining a lot of points from their group matches as they were against low ranked teams. Brazil probably lost points for their draw against Mexico. Then Colombia beat Uruguay who were pretty high up there and then Colombia got beat by Brazil which didn't cost Colombia a whole lot of points. The difference in points is probably caused by Brazil losing 2 matches in a row, in which they probably lots a lot of points against Netherlands who were ranked 15th before the WC. Besides, Colombia lost 1 match, Brazil lost 2 and drew 1. Considering they gain/lose points per match which has nothing to do with their final standings in the tournament, I guess that's what causes the switch. | ||
