As much as Ovie and Lundqvist deserve a Cup, Kimmo deserves one even more and probably has the best chance he's ever had this year. The Hawks are arguably the deepest team left in the playoffs though probably the hardest path through to the Cup in recent memory. Crawford bounced back from his rough playoff start and reminded Hawks fans why he's one of the most underrated goalies in the league, they're getting balanced flavoring except for that Hossa guy who somehow hasn't scored yet so he's due. Plus that Kane kid is probably the hottest player in the playoffs. That being said Duck/Hawks is going to be a killer series and decide the Cup favorite. No offense to you East fans but I really question the consistency of the East teams this year

If the Caps win over the Rangers then it's already going to be decided that the winner of the West will be the champions. They most likely are anyways, but I don't see the Capitals nor Tampa Bay winning bo7s against Anaheim or Chicago.

TB has a pretty decent shot, though it's hurt without Callahan. That 2nd line is pretty dope and they've got depth and skill all around. Caps aren't as deep, but I think they'd have a good shot. But the Rangers are winning

TB have to be at least 2:1 underdogs to either Anaheim or Chicago in a bo7. Them forcing it to a game 7 would be a phenomenal achievement for them. They have a lot of good young talent though so they can contend for a number of years as long as the organization doesn't go to shit. I see their core roster winning in the next 3-5 years, but this doesn't feel like their year despite all that they've achieved so far.

If I was going to wager a large amount of money, the West is where I'd put it on the line. Chicago just looks too damn good.

Oh yeah I think Chicago would be favorites over anyone. Anaheim would be over the Caps, maybe the Bolts, but probably not the Rangers.

If the Rangers do stay in there's a chance they could grind down Anaheim or Chicago in 7 games. It's closer than a Chicago vs Bolts matchup for sure (which would be the most likely finals if the Rangers bow in this round).

anaheim would get rekt vs rangers. tampa is still the biggest threat. but now that zuccarello isn't playing it will be tough for rangers.

God damnit Caps, way to choke. They really had it in game 5, Jesus Christ.
Holtby play was phenomenal, this kid is growing into a huge goalie, hope he stays with the team... I also think that Ward was playing really really well, their 2-3 minutes of aggression with Kuzy in the overtime was so fun to watch. Seems this Trotz guy did very well, building a powerful team out of couple of scorer and a bunch of no-names. I mean even Brower contributed!

Overall in the series Rangers did not look that scary...

I do agree with what you are saying, I feel this is the best the Caps have looked in a while, primarily because a lot of those younger forwards started playing very well. It was weird watching OT. It seems like both teams opened up into a counter attack game, which is really weird since the last 3-4 games have been the Caps clogging the middle of the ice and the Rangers throwing perimeter shots for rebounds. Ironically, they kept plugging away with that crap and won off of it haha. I still think the Rangers would be better off trying to do a bit more carrying the line with control vs carrying and ripping around.
