He moved his man about 10 feet before Paul even got to the paint and held him. You should really, really watch that last play in it's entirety. This. A foul on Blake was the only appropriate call. That might have been a penalty if he was a left tackle.

He should've easily won that game without the refs being able to do a thing. Besides, there are a ton of uncalled touches where a screenshot will show a foul. In real time it looked less obvious than a lot of other no-calls. Lowry and Curry (Ginobili last year) all probably deserved foul calls just as much Paul did. If you put yourself in a position where you need that call to go your way, then it's already on you, can't expect the refs to get it right even close to 100% of the time.

Erm, the refs have a very difficult job and generally do pretty decently at it. But the end of the game was just abysmal even without slow motion aides (Barnes on Jackson, Blake's fullback screen, Jackson on Paul), but the out of bounds call in particular is just indefensible because they looked at it in slow motion and somehow got it wrong. Not calling rule violations doesn't provide cover for poor officiating.

in related news... Heard Dumars wanted to re-sign him actually. I like this move, the 3 big men thing didn't work out, Drummond is a better prospect, and you're not going to get shit for J-Smoove right now.

I feel that the bolded part is a really dumb way of thinking about these things. Teams just don't put themselves in these positions. There's another talented team opposing them that is trying to put them in that position as well. Saying that one team should be able to avoid that position does a complete disservice to their opponent.

Like there might be players who come along who will be better than him on the court, but no one will touch the legacy of Michael Jordan. The social significance of Jordan is nearly untouchable I agree. Even taking this out completely and just comparing all-time-greats' seasons by numbers and results, Jordan still has a case for greatest-ever though. Add to this how athletic he was (still holds highest vertical jump record for rookie), along with his mindset, skill, and determination.. and he also has an argument to be able to be great/dominate in today's game. In an off-court sense, the best thing I've heard about LBJ is his desire to attach himself to bigger causes . Like the Travyn Martin case, and now with this Sterling thing. He seems to understand and act in a way that he gets that the platform he is in is to be used for something bigger (unlike a Tiger Woods, for example). This could come to serve him well down the line in his career/legacy dependent on situation (like a Muhammad Ali).

Monroe is offensively good and defensively bad, and has room to improve. I think ti's reasonable to not give him a max deal, but restricted free agency is totally stacked in the Piston's favor and it would be silly for them not to leverage that.

Yeah I don't think Monroe is a bad player but rumor is that he's asking for close to the max and if not 10+ million per year and there's just no reason for the Pistons to match that with the roster that they have.
