in related news... Heard Dumars wanted to re-sign him actually. I like this move, the 3 big men thing didn't work out, Drummond is a better prospect, and you're not going to get shit for J-Smoove right now. That seems a bit extreme. Monroe is offensively good and defensively bad, and has room to improve. I think ti's reasonable to not give him a max deal, but restricted free agency is totally stacked in the Piston's favor and it would be silly for them not to leverage that. Yeah I don't think Monroe is a bad player but rumor is that he's asking for close to the max and if not 10+ million per year and there's just no reason for the Pistons to match that with the roster that they have.
wow...monroe wants max? jesus...even the dumbest team can't bit on that right?
....he's worth about $10-11 year max...

All the Miami fan hate reminds me of Game 6 last year in the finals vs. the Spurs, 4th quarter last 30s LOL

He should've easily won that game without the refs being able to do a thing. Besides, there are a ton of uncalled touches where a screenshot will show a foul. In real time it looked less obvious than a lot of other no-calls. Lowry and Curry (Ginobili last year) all probably deserved foul calls just as much Paul did. If you put yourself in a position where you need that call to go your way, then it's already on you, can't expect the refs to get it right even close to 100% of the time. I feel that the bolded part is a really dumb way of thinking about these things. Teams just don't put themselves in these positions. There's another talented team opposing them that is trying to put them in that position as well. Saying that one team should be able to avoid that position does a complete disservice to their opponent. Yes there's another team opposing them but there's been a whole game of calls and mistakes. It's not just about one play. I'm not saying it's any team's fault, it is a tough competition. But the reality is if they want to win consistently it's on the team to make less dumb plays (fouling 3 pt'ers, dumb TO's) and put themselves in positions where one call can't fuck them.
Pop barely ever brings up single calls, he's usually far more upset about his team's D/execution/aggressiveness etc. I wish more fans saw it the same way.

It's still stupid that the rules of the game suddenly change in the last couple of minutes, both literally and by how the refs treat the game.

My contention is that the only way to avoid being in that position is to consistently blow out the other team. I don't find that to be a realistic position when the teams are evenly matched. It is even more difficult if you are theoretically the underdog trying to blow out the favorite. Evenly matched teams will frequently have games that come down to one possession. And the teams are evenly matched even though the Clippers played better for most of the game. Games such as this are pretty much 50/50.

It's official, Kerr to GSW.

Edit:Sniped!
I hate Jackson as much as the next guy but I hope Warriors crash and burn for hiring another inexperienced ex player as a coach.

Doesn't that exactly explain Jackson's road to NBA coaching? Ex player --> TV analyst --> head coach.

lol kerr to dubs....knicks can have mchale XD

Kerr is a risk but I like the hire. He's got a very good bbiq and embraces the modern game more than some coaches.
The dubs aren't a team with divisive personalities so I think it's a good situation for him to come into.
Oh and lol Knicks.
