And sweet fucking Jesus, imagine if Canada then got upset and didn't even get a medal. It would just be too much. The world couldn't handle it. Not like it hasn't happened before. Because it's happened several times man.

I think the US women have fared better in other tournaments tho? well USA lost to Finland in the Four Nations Cup and did not make it to the Finals. USA won last year's world championships. then in an 8 game exhibition series USA (over Canada) won 4-3-1, however, Canada replaced their coach mid-way through that exhibition series. so its hard to judge. the previous "big event" before the olympics was the 4 Nations Cup where Canada took first and Finland 2nd place and USA took 3rd. USA women have a track record of disasters that the Canadian women do not have. Finland has the best goalie in the world giving Finland a "puncher's chance" to knock out either Canada or the USA in any big event. Notice USA beat Finland "only" 3-1 in this event and Canada "only" won 3-0 over Finland. that's women's hockey in a nutshell. They can't win every year, but it sure sucks to see Canada miss the medals in Hockey. Here's hoping they medal this year, but hey at least we got Gold on our home soil!

Here's hoping they medal this year, but hey at least we got Gold on our home soil! its telling that Canada won NOTHING during the prime of Eric Lindros' career, specifically, when he was team captain. by 2002, Lindros was a bit player who never entered high traffic areas due to all his concussion problems. But, that was ok because Joe Sakic showed Lindros what real leadership is all about.

Ya, Nagano was more painful than Turin I thought tho, simply because we had probably the greatest lineup team Canada will ever have in history and still couldnt beat the dominator!. Turin was just a bad dream. And you cant win the olympics every time. I fully expect the US to win tomorrow, they have just looked too damn good.

Worlds best hockey player, sitting on the bench during a shootout. The amount of fail in that coaching decision is incalculable. Turin was a nightmare. Team Canada played awful and they ran into the best games their opponents played. I couldn't believe that a team with that much talent could look so bad on the ice against such weak opposition until I actually did see it.

"The game was broadcast on a large screen [in Toronto City Hall] that usually displays policy and procedural motions. When the Canadian squad tied up the score against their American rivals in the dying seconds of regular time, jubilation broke out in the chambers. Mayor Rob Ford jumped up and down six times and sent his cell phone flying. ![]() Rob Ford's reaction to the women's gold medal game after Canada tied it up lol. Now if only we could deploy him to Sochi to distribute some crack to the Americans during the pregame... I know Kane would bite. ![]()
