Phoenix's run home looks so brutal LAC @POR OKC NOR @SAS MEM @DAL SAC Warriors just lose to the Knicks. Yikes

Anyway, I hope the top 4 maintain the status quo, and that MEM finishes 7th and has another fated match against LAC in the playoffs.

Just lost a fantasy semi-final and $200 to this Derek Fisher "steal" http://on.nba.com/1i7p8vZ edit: I was 4-3 up in an 8 cat league but steals tied at 47 and he had home court (so took steals and the win on tiebreaker).

It's possible, though, that the NBA site got the wrong clip. They put in literally hundreds of those things a night so some slip ups are bound to happen. Only way to double check would be to watch every Derek Fisher minute. All that aside, the video clip is very explicitly defined in the rules as not a steal.

It's ugly, but it's a steal to D Fish. Kanter loses possession of the ball from an OKC hand and it ends with Fisher. Since OKC caused the turnover, Fish is credited the steal. edit: simplest definition I can put into words: if the defensive team takes (steals) possession of the ball from the offensive team, it's a steal.

Found this definition "A steal is made when a defender's aggressive action causes a turnover by either taking the ball away from the offensive player, intercepting a pass, or deflecting the ball away." Yet to find a definition that doesn't mention the defender being aggressively involved in the turnover.

Sports writers barely count as journalists. They shouldn't inflict their opinions on subjects of importance on anyone.
