I must admit it is kind of funny for neutrals to see Utd this season as opposed to the Fergie era, so many things have happened for Utd we didn't see for over 20 years XD.

Average game attendance for the 2013 season was 18,594, a higher total than either the NBA (17,348 for the 2011-12 season) or the NHL (17,721 for 2012-13 season). Total league attendance topped 6 million. Before its 2012 season, the MLS had never exceeded 5.5 million. Seattle especially, but Portland, Kansas City, Houston and Columbus demonstrated that soccer, when properly marketed with a compelling product, can turn a nice profit. Seattle's average game attendance of 44,038 is more than twice the Seattle Mariners baseball team and double the L.A. Galaxy, the league's second-most popular team. Source

But the higher attendance is partly due to the fact, that the Football stadiums are bigger than your average NBA or NHL stadium, isn't it?

Another thing we've learned is that Januzaj is overrated. the only two times when he got the ball were when he went for a dribble and was simply outmuscled by the defenders. And, by the way, if he is such a "new big thing" he should already be able to get a spot in starting 11 regularily, which I'm not seeing yet. Right now, he's nobody compared to Mirallas.

Robben was just an accident, Götze was already injured when he was still with Dormund, Martinez and Ribery were injured playing for their national teams, Badstuber with bad luck by his doubly ACL injury. Schweinsteiger has some ancle problems. So the only possible "practice too hard" muscle injury is Lahm and he will most likely return next week. Pretty sure he could play if the CL final is tomorrow, i think they use the opportunity to rest him a bit.

Last thing Bayern need when they are in their peak is for all squad to be over worked and be injured every week. Makes Chelsea achievement look even better if Bayern go on to be like Barca and win next 2 out of 3 Champions Leagues or something ![]() Beating that team in their backyard in a final, sounds pretty cool ![]()

Well, it's hard to say what causes it. NHL/NBA stadiums are almost always smaller than 20,000 seats, but you would have to have a debate as to whether they're that small because they can't fill anything bigger or they can't get a bigger audience because the arena is that small. Part of it is that a hockey/basketball game is played on a much smaller field of play, and thus you can't realistically support as many viewers, but it's pretty complicated. I prefer to just look at attendance percentage.

no matter how big the squad is... when that many players are injured, maybe you can replace them for 1-2 games, but you can't replace them for weeks. so i'm happy that thiago is finally back, ribery got some playtime yesterday and lahm and shaqiri are close to coming back. @Pandemona: can't really compare the bayern squad from that CL final to today's :D but that loss was definitely one of the biggest reasons why they won the treble last year.
