I still think that playing 4 charity friendly matches in 8-12 days, in different countries, during his vacation (coming off an injury) was the dumbest thing Messi could have done. He could have done charity stuff at any other time i.m.o..

Lately the Italian clubs are actually performing really well, but yeah our national team is second to none in Europe. It's a summer sport so you can actually combine it reasonably well with football.

I guess the German fans take the friendly against Italy much more seriously - and understandably so ![]()

Gave me a lot to think about. The Chelsea-Vitesse relationship is a very polarizing issue. How much input can Chelsea have at Vitesse before they starting to infringe on the ENIC ruling? Should the Eredivisie have a player loan limit? Is this even ethical in the first place? It certainly seems like Chelsea are revolutionizing player development in England. With the hugely inflated transfer market, and the introduction of FFP, clubs definitely need to focus more on homegrown talent. Vitesse gives Chelsea a great way to not only get their players game time to develop, but also avoid the strict work permit regulations in England. I bet it's only a matter of time until other top clubs in England do the same. For better or worse, the FA doesn't let B teams compete in the league system like in Germany and Spain. So this should give the FA even more motivation to improve the U21 Premier League. Not every club has the ability to loan their players to a feeder team in a good league like Chelsea do, and improving the reserve leagues in England would go a long way to giving clubs a place for their players to get game time in a controlled environment.

very bias towards Chelsea.I agree with what your saying though, you have to be careful with what you allow. Hell look at Watford last year, they nearly got promoted with about 10 loan players? from Udinese lol.
