KOREA 2 - 1 SWITZERLAND. FT
Hong Myung Bo is such an amazing manager. Our 196cm tall striker kim shin wook looked useless in qualifying rounds because everyone just kicked long balls to him which never worked under our previous manager. Hong still uses his height but much less frequently and shinwook actually did a nice job of holding the ball up and linking up play. I'd still rather have an in-from park chu young as striker but he gives us another valuable option.
This, and pretty much everything about the team is looking better. Defense is much more compact, midfield plays nice one-twos and keeps possession. Our finishing department still sometimes lacks, but still, the team looks much better and I really think korea has a good shot at making AT LEAST the ro16 in the next world cup no matter who we play.

I stopped watching the Korea game at half time in favour of Broodwar. It sounds like they made a pretty good come back.
Important qualifiers for some tonight.

I hope Italy beats Germany : D
with an amazing performance by Pirlo and Montolivo

usually i hate these international breaks, but i'm really looking forward to the games against italy and england, although many players are injured. of course they're just friendlys but i doubt germany wants to lose against italy AGAIN :D and it's probably the last test against really big opponents before the world cup.

Why the fuck couldn't Fifa just rig the draw and not put Portugal v Sweden. Maybe they did and they are that evil.

Khedira has torn his ACL in yesterdays friendly, he will be out at least ~six months.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF He's one of my favourite players, and he's always such a reliable player for the national team. Hope he makes it for the WC, but I have my doubts about it. In terms what this means for the national team, luckily Lahm has been converted into a defensive midfielder lately. But if either of him or Schweinsteiger also get injured for the WC, this willl be a huge burden. Well at least we also said the same about Ballack in 2010, and in the end some others stepped up, and this time or pool of talented players is even bigger.

Lahm should play RB, and just that. We have the Benders for the more defensive part and Gündogan/Schweinsteiger for the more offensive part. Assuming Gündogan and Schweinsteiger are getting back and back to their lvl of play soon.
I am not too worried about Khedira missing, if those 4 (2x Bender, Gündogan, Schweinsteiger) are healthy.

Lahm won't get injured, he never does.
|
Höwedes/Jansen yesterday showed that Lahm is needed badly as full-back, the wings were wasteland offensively.

Must suck to have a player like Lars Bender as a backup for your national team...
Good thing that Real Madrid got Illaramendi now D:
