also, lol italy? can anyone give more insight into Salernitana vs Nocerina? From the translated norwegian article I read, this was basically the turn of events: Nocerina ultras being banned from the game cause of safety reasons, then supposedly the ultras threaten the nocerina players and demand of them that they do not play the game, then once the game starts, immediately 3 nocerina players are subbed off and then 5 players leave the field with supposed injuries, leading to them only fielding 6 players (7 being the required number), then the game stops and nocerina board of directors resigns? how is this happening in europe in 2013?
Because when ultras members of the camorra do death threats, you better do what they say.

Barça has started playing like Stoke, to compensate
On a serious note, I really don't like what Martino is trying do with the team... The tiki-taka might be "boring" to some people, but the "no-brain long balls" is far worse. Yesterday it's was a miracle that Betis didn't lead at half-time. The results are so good that it seems crazy to criticize Barcelona, but I believe we're going to see how bad the team is playing when we're going to face better teams like Atletico or in the next CL round. We beat Madrid but they were playing even worse than us :/
Tiki-taka means stability. The team takes maybe less risk on the offensive side, but in return you are pretty safe on the defensive side and you don't concede many attempts (last year was an exception). Martino wants the team to play more vertical, with less patience, more like Real Madrid or Bayern/Dortmund. This should mean that when your opponents manage to get the ball back, you should be prepared to defend, with more players than if you played the tiki-taka style Barça has been playing the last years. But this is not even true! The defense is a wreck, and if Valdés wasn't at this level, we would have 10 points less this season :s Hell, it's freaking obvious that our players aren't made to play without the ball... More risk on the offensive side leading to 'a bit more attempts than tiki-taka style' (true for last year, not true for the Guardiola years) AND more risk on the defensive side...
Add to that the 0 turnover strategy and Messi's injuries... I bet we don't win any trophy this season. Or maybe just the Copa del Rey because we were very lucky on the draw (out of the good Spanish team, we could only face Sevilla before the final, whereas on the other side of the tournament tree, there is Atletico, RM, Valenci, Malaga, ...). Real Madrid seems to be more equipped to face la Liga teams and they have, imo, the same chances as us to win the CL (lower than the last years).

nice goal by Pogba, but I wonder if its a good decision to make that shot there. Juve had 3 other players in good position there and I dont know how often in 10 tries, Pogba hits the ball like that. then again theres a good chance the keeper allows a rebound. but man, with the outer side of his foot, nice!
|
The shot looked phenomenal, but I can't help but feel the defenders just didn't do anything there. Like 3 seconds passed from the moment he got the ball to when he shot and there were 2 defenders close just standing by.

That would be pretty amazing! I have to agree with some of the arguments as well, the depth of squad means less for the CL as it does for the league.

Why couldn't you guys take your players and dump them somewhere else? I'm so frustrated seeing them top of the table, they can hardly fill their stadium even against a top side It's like seeing Wigan being top of the table.

Man, as much as I appreciate Mou and think he is the best manager around, I am still highly dubious that Oscar should be taking pride of place over Mata. I consider Mata significantly better. Oscar should be his understudy.

Ooo they are Wigan of Eredivise thats sad. I didn't know that. I would hate seeing top of table team without a full stadium But still...vital experience for our boys haha :3 Did they beat Twente this weekend then? I think thats who they played right?

This is how i think it should be sc4k;
-----------------------Striker Hazard/Schurrle - Mata - Willian/DeBruyne -------------------Oscar - - Ramires
Oscar with the amount of running he does, the tackling he does and the strength he shows, he is more than capable of playing as the holding midfielder role. Also his discipline he showed when he was doing a job on Pirlo. Thats where i would have him as it also solves the biggest problem Chelsea have at the moment. The 2 holding midfielders we use do not know how to pass a ball further than 10 yards. Ramires does everything apart from have decent vision of pass or composure. Lampard has lot everything to be able to do it. He is showing his age this season so far for me.
Put Oscar alongside Ramires and i think we solve every issue. Can play Mata in the middle, keep teaching him he has to press the ball when he doesn't have it. Hazard Schurrle Willian can fight for the wide spots and our team looks alot more balanced. Mourinho does look a tad to naive to try something like this though.

Well your boys are definitely playing the best football in the eredivisie at the moment, only Feyenoord have come close but still make too many retarded mistakes in their defense and are wasteful in front of goal. Anyway I am being a bit too harsh on Vitesse because the stadium is simply too big for the club. The stadium is used as a concert hall for the east of the Netherlands and German towns across the border, nearly always a sellout. It's just that Arnhem itself isn't really that big and the surrounding area is home to a lot of different clubs.
They played Utrecht btw and looked good in the match.

That was a great goal as well, but I still prefer Matic's. That one is a bigger team effort but the other one they chose is a better finisher, and since it's an individual award I can see why they chose it.

Messi reported to be ruled out for up to 2 months because of injury. Let's see how good Barca is without him. At least for the Champions League, it won't matter at all.

agreed with ferrose.. both with them having omitted several great ones, and with me not understanding a couple of their picks -especially neymar's is like, yeah sure it's good but not even CLOSE to top 10 of the last year.
zlatan's prolly gonna win. I think the benfica goal just linked was better though. and peter ankersen's goal, I hadn't seen that one before, was really impressive to me.

Well the only good thing about this is that it's very early in the season and it won't matter as you said, so barca may learn how to play without him. They became too depended on him in the last few years, last season it was basically messi by himself doing everything.
Neymar's signing doesn't seem that excessive now, does it? xD

Ooo nice nice. Playing nice football too huh, even from a dutch perspective, must be worth a look. Will keep an eye out for there next game!
Also La Liga fans and Spanish citizens. WTF is going on with the state of the pitches in Spain? Betis vs Barca yesterday i watched 20minutes of it and the pitch was shockingly dry and looked like sand was coated everywhere. It cuts up every tackle and bobbles like no other. Surely this is going to effect the beautiful passing games of the teams in Spain? Looks like every pitch needs a good soaking of water pre match. The quality gone down in recent years?
