You are so lucky, you know this is the era of the equivalent of mj or gretzky, the legendary Leo Messi. So, watch whatever suits you but be sure to tune in for barca's games every weekend, it's when the magic happens.

The premier league is the one where every week there is a top quality competitive match to feast your eyes on, sometimes multiple ones.

Until then, why not start with the MLS? There are some Canadian teams in there, after all. And the skill level should be decent.

www.skysports.com/football Use that website to look around for news, im sure the ESPN website would be good as well but this should be the best
http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb.html This website is the website of the English domestic league which in North America you get ALL games covered pretty much, so in terms of access it probably would be best for you to follow an English premiership team.
In August 'Murica is putting on a really good pre season tournament so i suggest watching that and there is two sides from the premiership in it with Chelsea and Everton, that would be your best start. Also Real Madrid Inter Milan Juventus Valencia should be fun.

In their note to the stock market Dortmund declared that Mkhitaryan would be the last transfer of this perdiod. The players we got are really promising so let's hope for a wonderful next season. I'm just a bit worried that the roster is too thin again.

If the harshness of an injury to Lewandowski happens, who do you have as a replacement? :S

Premier League always has good streams up and with English commentary. Other than that I suggest watching games of Bayern München/Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, but one thing you should always do if you have nothing else to do at the time:
Watch Barcelona's games for one reason only: Lionel Messi.

Aubameyang and Schieber. It's not really the problem that they don't have the players but the quality drops off a lot after the first 11 in most cases.

Exactly. The only position where an injury is not noticeable would be the defensive midfield imo (although Gündogan played incredible last season but Sahin etc are up to the task). In every case I see a huge dependancy on Großkreutz in case of injuries. He might not be the best player but he'll play everything from goalie to offensive midfield. If Mkhitaryan scores like Kagawa did from the midfield or Aubameyang fits in well I don't see Lewa missing as our biggest problem.

I would love to see a LB/RB, because atm Großkreutz or Sokratis will start at RB, and then, what happens if one of them gets injured?
If Großkreutz moves to RB, then we just have 4 guys for the 3 attacking midfield positions: Aubameyang, Reus, Kuba, Mkhitaryan. + Hofmann maybe. If Sokratis moves to RB, then we just have Hummels/Subotic for CB. And wtf is happening when Schmelzer and Piszczek are both injured at the same time (aka if Schmelzer gets injured the first few months in)? We will be so vulnerable at LB/RB then.
The only place we don't have to worry about is defensive midfield with Gündogan, Sahin, Kehl and Bender.
But overall we need to get lucky with injuries and the roster may be too thin for CL/Bundesliga/DFB-Pokal. Most likely the results in the Bundesliga will suffer from that.
Edit: Mhkitaryan to Dortmund is now officially official (wow, surprise!), fee is 27,5 million € as reported by Donezk.

I think a good advice for someone getting started in a sport is to play a video game (FIFA/PES/FM) and pick a team on that. That way you'll get emotionally invested in a team and get to know all the players. For the beauty of the game alone then it's all about the Champions League and national rivalries, RM vs Barcelona, Dortmund vs Bayern, and any game between Tottenham, Man U., Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. Oh and Benfica vs Porto of course.

Net: €100.5million in the red

Net: €100.5million in the red Both Villa and Henry were bought when they were older, they were never going to be sold for a lot. So really only Ibrahimovic was an actually failed transfer in those three.
edit: Only talking money wise not how they performed football wise.

Indeed in terms of football, but its still alot wasted ;_; Another reason why buying young is the best policy, you invest £30million in a player who u get 7/8 years out of at 18-20, by time your reselling him he is still 26/28 and you make the money back like you said. So good point, and i think most clubs do try to buy as young as possible these days and invest more to potentially lose less in failures.

Bayern buying Luca Toni for 28,5 million and giving him away for free while he had contract was a waste ^_^ He didn't even play much when he was in Munich.

Ahh Luca Toni <3 damn son, guy was so sick but obviously didn't get on well at Bayern / Germany in general. Shame, that money those days was big too

Henry and Villa would have costed a lot more if they stayed... They also both served the club pretty well as both won a Champions League and performed good at least one season. Too few for their acquisition price/selling price ratio but I've seen worse. Ibra was good on the field but doesn't really suit Barcelona style outside of the field. Eto'o had to leave but still the waste of money for Ibra was huuuuge People say that Guardiola wanted Villa but he wasn't available at this time, so they had to find a world class 9 very fast to replace Eto'o. There are also some other terrible transfers like Chygrynski, Song (if he continues to play 5 games a year...), and soon Neymar
I'm really impatient to see how much RM is going to sell Kaka :D

They need to sell Higuain
