Anyway big day today, I expect Chicago to come out swinging and unless Howard is in Jesus mode they will even the series. Probably in some kind of brutally lopsided fashion. Or, once Quinnevile lost his shit on Crawford his mental state is shattered and he and Shaw and Bickel are one unlucky call away from blowing their shit. But chances are its first. Probably Toews will score a goal and all of Canada's media will celebrate Captain 'intangibles' for the 2 days that Crosby isnt on the ice.
Would you qualify Howard tonight as Jesus mode? Or Toews as really, really, really bad tonight?
Yep, Howard has officially entered Jesus mode. Toews didnt have that bad of the night, sure he lost his shit in the second but he re-grouped in the third and considering the anemic Wings PP at that point I am sure he thought he wasnt hurting the team. I mean, obviously "Captain Intangibles" is having a terrible playoff series because he hasnt scored in 9 games but I am sure some Canadian hockey analyst will explain how his leadership is singlehandedly keeping the Hawks in this and Quinvvell off suicide watch. .

Recap the Toews 2nd for some sorry asshole stuck at work?
Toews basically was doing much of the same, generating some quality chances but having to work his ass off for everything. He then ended up taking three penalties in a row which really kinda shifted momentum to the Wings (and got them their only non empty-net goal). He seemed pissed and apparently Seabrook went into the box to calm him down a bit. He then had some chances, but more of the same as the Hawks couldn't capitalize all night on multiple poor turnovers/bad positioning plays from Wings. Howard was a beast.

Here is a recap.
But basically Toews took some dumb penalties -- and then lost his shit in the box --
i dont see how anyone could hate on jimmy howard. second year in a row he put up stellar stats behind a d that is maybe slightly above average at best.

It's not just his lack of goals that encompasses how bad he's been. This is the first time the Blackhakws have really dealt with adversity all season. Who will they look to for leadership besides their Captain, Toews. And what do they get when they look to him for leadership? An angry, pouting, constantly complaining to the refs guy taking dumb penalties and not producing. That's not what they need right now. He needs to buckle down if they want to have a chance still.

objectively its a terrible D. after Kronwall (who hasnt been able to get the puck on the actual net for 2 series now, but I guess he stopped taking himself out of the play lining up an unnecessary and poorly timed hit so there is something) their second best defenseman is Carlo Coliacovo. Let that sink in.
Hopefully the idea that Anderson is an elite goalie is put to rest after how awful he's been this series.
well, good try Sens. At least you finished ahead of Montreal and the Leafs again. Should be interesting to see Pens against an actual team.
I'm sure the Pens are interested in that too, unfortunately there aren't any actual teams in the rest of the Eastern Conference. (Sorry Boston but you just aren't)
