also, that patented Brad Stuart own goal, enjoy that Shark fans. It cost the Wings a Stanley Cup, it might cost you a playoff series (probably not this one though) Eh? When did a Stuart own goal cost the Wings a cup? In 09. There were a lot of things that went wrong for the Wings in that 09 series heh. Plus its not like the Pens didn't play well and deserve it (they won game 7 on the road after all). I dont dispute any of that. But Stuart was the guy who turned over the puck for the opening goal. Now maybe anyone else would have turned it over too, but the guy does have a proclivity to playing in front of the net/in his own zone in a fashion that leads to memorable own goals/turn overs

Goddamn the Penguins are an embarrassment and a laughingstock. Bylsma (aka the charlatan who calls himself coach), can you actually prepare a team for the playoffs and enforce a modicum of discipline in play? It's ridiculous that this is happening again. The way Malkin's been playing, for example, just shows how there's a complete absence of coaching. He needs a leash or he does stupid fucking shit. It's impossible to like this team when they go like this, Crosby's like the only one holding up his end of the team, but you can't do this one person carry crap.
Oh and of course awful Fluery has to show up right when the playoffs come when he looked really legit in the season.

Well, look at Pittsburgh. They're still playing MAF and just about every other person would have gone with Tomas by now and go Sens go!
2 quick goals gives Vancouver the lead late in the 3rd. About time they find the net.

Bleh. That is why the Sharks are supposed to leave the stupid penalties to the Canucks.
|
Sharks going full retard.

Not bad I like sitting 6-10 rows back myself because it gives me the best view of the ice and lol at the stuffed animal.

lol all tied up again. The circus continues!!

If Sharks lose this one, only ones to blame is themselves. 4 minute major and then another penalty right after.

Lots of hustle and physical play from the Wild, but it doesn't mean much when you lose while getting shut out at home.
It makes me want to punch someone when the commentators on our local stations talk about how much fight the Wild have in them. I don't give a damn if you hustle the entire time and finish your checks; when you perform several levels below your pay grade and can't hit the broad side of a mother fucking barn with a God damn puck, you are an embarrassment to this fucking state.
Shit makes me sick. The under-performance we see from Koivu, Parise, etc. is reminiscent of the complete failure that Fernando Torres is at Chelsea.
Again, I don't give a fuck if you hustle and check hard for the entire game; that may be fighting, and I'm glad we're seeing that (finally); that's the kind of play we want to see here in Minnesota. However, it doesn't matter when you have a continuing problem and you fail to address it. Learn to aim a God damn puck. 0/6 on the power play and not getting a single fucking shot on goal in the last five minutes should earn the entire team a week's pay donated back to the club.
The worst part of it is that everyone in this fucking state seems to be oblivious to the fact that this happened the entire month of April. Over Feb/March the roster was finally earning the money they were getting paid, and then they just started sucking it up again and we had numerous games where we vastly out-shot the opponent and yet couldn't score a fucking goal. This is a chronic problem that isn't due to an "off day".
I can already see myself turning into my grandfather. The man is a 73-year-old diehard Vikings fan that follows them closely, owns endless merchandise, and watches every game. Still tells me that they're going to lose every single game. Man is so bitter and disappointed by the team's incessant failures that it's impossible for him to be even remotely excited about the team.
Life of a Minnesota fan.

What's with these bullshit penalties against Vancouver?
|
Welp that's the end of that series
|
Well Vancouver fans, at least AV is gone.
|
Okay, that last penalty was a legitimately bullshit penalty.
Still, screw you, Canucks. Goodbye.
|
I always thought hockey needs to introduce a challenge flag from the NFL. You can only use it once, and if you are wrong on video review you get a penalty against you but at least you can review key decisions like this one.
|
Than god for the sweep, now the ownership has a mandate to clean house. Worst case would have been for Vancouver to make an almost-comeback. Still have no idea who came up with the boneheaded idea of riding Schneider, Luongo was on his groove the entire series. Oh well, good-bye all the coaching staff I'd hope.
Also: Yes the Canucks clearly deserved to lose, but also yes the reffing was retardedly against VAN. The incompetence of the Canucks doesn't excuse how incompetent the refs were.
|
Vancouver sports radio: "The integrity of the refs in the NHL is what keeps it from being as successful as MLB or NBA." what can you do but lol at that saltiness.
|
and now the Canuck pool reporter is threatening the ref with bodily violence, and that "he should move out of BC"
|
Other than that final call, the officiating was fine and evenly called. Let's be real: the Canucks players did a lot of stupid shit that invited the penalties that they got. Their discipline was horrific, and they refused to take responsibility and adjust. That is on AV mostly. The Sharks were far more disciplined, yet when they did stupid shit, they were penalized, too (see Desjardins).
The bottom line is that the Canucks are a dirty team, are rightfully viewed around the league as a dirty team, and deserved most of what they got.
