CBC's coverage team has me at odds. I like the idea of having hockey on the public broadcast, out of tradition, but the people involved are almost uniformly terrible. Friedman seems like the only guy who has anything interesting to say and then they fill out the team with terrible ex-hockey-players like Healy and PJ-fucking-stock. Guys who are remembered fondly for letting in soft goals and getting punched in the face.

I was sad when CBC lost the HNIC theme - but at the rate things are going, I'd be happy to see CTV take over the whole show.

what makes you think CTV is going to do any better? TSN is as mediocre as the CBC crew. The real problem is that as in most Canadian institutions you have an old guard that is way past its prime and only a string of funerals will move forward the state of broadcasting.

Leafs playoff tickets are going to become much more affordable for the two home games. Which is both good and bad. Its good because normal people might actually watch a live game. Its bad because normal Leaf fans will then continue to allow MLSE to gouge the crap out of them for no reason at all.

Um no they won't. Regardless of the product/series they're still going to go for a ridiculous amount. Even if it's resale from season ticket owners. Normal people? ._. Look even when we re-sale our tickets to the games we don't want to go to we get a substantial amount. Still the highest in the league.

The Sharks announcers (I think it's them I'm seeing on CSN feed on NBC sports) are rather entertaining. And just now calling the green men "the 40-year old virgins" and posing the question of whether they live in their parents' basement.

Yeah, the Sharks announcers are the best thing going for the team. They're some of the most entertaining in sports.
