fuark curls annoys the fuck out of me. chinups and deadlifts u can usually work in worth the person though. I go at 6am in the morning so I don't have to deal with that chit

I was thinking about buying a bar and 300 lbs of plates and it was going to cost me $800 including S&H and tax...
Yeah I'm sure the bar is close to crap, but plates are plates and the tree is pretty nice, probably around 200 new by itself. Plus, worst case is I have a beater bar and I can buy a nice Texas Power Bar later.
Tried my first snatches today! They were actually more like power snatches since they were part of a timed crossfit workout and I was going light and just wanted to be able to get it up. They were fun! I would love to try more, and slowly move to real snatches!
Start with full snatches. Nobody ever has problems lifting the bar high enough (for a long time), it's always the getting under part that people struggle with. Try doing full depth snatches from the high hang like this:
Head over to the olympic weightlifting thread if you ever need help!
Me and 2 friends just started a 3 month weight losing program / non-competition all trying to lose some weight and get into a better condition, hopefully being 3 people with similar goals should help motivate all of us in the right direction and lose those extra kg's/pound's
due to every freaking blog name being taken, we ended up with www.healthtwist.blogspot.com if anyone wanna follow our progress. at the start of the 3 month program we are at 78,78 and 68 kg's with quite varying heights all of us kinda small my personal goal is to go from 78 to sub 70, mostly doing more sporting activities and getting a more healthy diet
also our sc2 leauges are plat, bronze bronze hehe, lossing weight are sure to raise our sc2 level :-)
guys i was just running for 30 mins on the old running machine that hasnt been used for ages (i just unpacked it and tightened the ribbon)
it was fine for 30 mins then suddenly a bang and it went MAX FUCKING SPEED POSSIBLE , i screamed and jumped off and it cut out 5 seconds later, some possible smell of burning
Bahaha, FFG, I don't know how much your post exaggerated what happened, but I just imagined you like calmly running along, then a plume of smoke enveloping you as you try to keep up with a 15 mile per hour sprint and then bailing off of the mill as your gym slowly fills with smoke, doing an action movie style roll away from the danger Which is to say I got a good laugh out of that And sorry you got put off of running, why not try running outside?
