Same with the app, it's also acting up stupidly.

+ Show Spoiler + At approximately 6AM ET on October 19th, the Fitocracy team released a major update to its website and iPhone app. The updates include a large number of major features that have been requested by the Fitocracy community for as long as we have been around. Those features include things like a workout calendar view, exercise grouping, instructional video clips, and more. Due to the scope of this release, a significant part of our software architecture had to be updated across iPhone, Android, and the Web. Unfortunately, the launch was met with a number of bugs and crashes that are now causing confusion and frustration among our community. You have our deepest apologies for the trouble this is causing... You count on us to give you a positive experience with Fitocracy and we let you down in a big way. You expect better from us. So, we want to tell you what's going on and what we are doing to address these problems: iPhone Issue: Fitocracy 2.0 for iOS is experiencing a critical issue where the app crashes upon login. What we are doing: We have traced the cause and have submitted a fixed version to Apple for approval on the App Store. We've also requested an expedited review so that the app can be approved as soon as possible. What you can do: If you are on iOS7, you can follow these instructions to get Fitocracy 2.0 working properly: 1. Close the app (http://abt.cm/1aZaHGE) 2. Open the Settings app 3. Open 'Notification Center' 4. Scroll down to Fitocracy in the list and open it. 5. Switch *everything* off (set Alert style to 'None'; all the switches to off) 6. Delete the app (http://bit.ly/16igh9J) 7. Go to the App Store and re-download the app. Note: You may have to download it from the App Store once and then update it to 2.0 separately to get the full update. 8. When you're logging in, do *not* allow push notifications 9. Go to Settings and make sure everything is still switched off 10. Open Fitocracy 2.0 and turn off push notifications if asked If you are on iOS6, and still have not updated to 2.0, please wait until the patched version is available before updating. If you are on iOS6 and have already updated to 2.0, unfortunately you will likely need to wait until the patched version is available. ------------------------- Issue: Exercise list doesn't appear in app What you can do: This issue can be resolved quickly by logging out of the app and logging back in. Web Issue: Exercise data is not being displayed correctly in the feed or workout history. Weight in kilograms is being displayed at ~2.2x the actual number logged. Distance is being displayed at large multiples of the original number. What we are doing: The most important thing to note is that your data is safe. We are accurately saving your workout information - the incorrect numbers are the result of a bug that is transforming your saved data incorrectly before it's displayed in the feed. We are investigating the issue as we speak and are working to fix the error as soon as possible. What you can do: Do not be alarmed when you see incorrect numbers in your workout history on the website. To reiterate, your workout data is being saved correctly. Just be aware of what's happening and notify others if you have the chance. ----- Issue: The "Delete Workout" functionality is not working properly. What we are doing: Active investigation and fix is in progress. What we are doing: If you need to delete a workout, please exercise patience and know that this functionality will be up soon! Android Issue: Certain data is not displaying in Exercise History / Personal Records. What we are doing: The issue is most likely related to a backend server update and not with the Android app itself. We are actively investigating how exercise data is being passed to the Android app and seeking a solution to restore things to normal. What you can do: Be aware that Exercise History / Personal Records information won't be complete or useful until this issue is resolved. However, the app should still otherwise function as normal. ----- We are sorry Nothing breaks our hearts more than to fail to deliver the experience we promise to our wonderful users. You have shown us so much love over the past three years and we do everything we can to reciprocate that by creating a great experience for you on Fitocracy. We fell short on that. Please accept our apologies for this failure on our part. Understand that we are working around the clock to fix these issues as soon as possible. We ask that you be patient with us as we fix these errors. We truly believe that the new experience of Fitocracy 2.0 will blow you away. Hang in there with us because it really will be worth it! -Brian Wang, CEO of Fitocracy I also hope they put some more work on the track UI, unless I was using it wrong it felt really awkward to use compared to the previous one.

I probably shouldn't substitute this for a whole workout, but I don't think I can squat after just holding the bottom of the squat position for a while and I don't want to just bench and work on cleans. I may do some dips and pull ups instead, but I'll see how I feel a bit later tonight. Anyway, here's what I was doing. I took BenKen's idea (since IgnE suggested that I do goblet squats and I can't actually do goblet squats with a narrow stance and my front squat looked like shit) and held a plate out in front of me. It was only 10 lbs, but it seems to have done a lot for my squat. I'll keep doing that and try to do it every single day on top of stretching. I don't know if I can keep deeper while keeping my back naturally arched (or as close to it as my mobility permits). Not bad man. Once you start to get a good feel for it, I would suggest doing the full movement with no pause. So do maybe a few sets of 5 or so just like you would do a squat with a barbell, down and up. What we want to do is train your body to do a new movement pattern. Some people call it "greasing the groove", but basically the more reps you do or something, the more your body adapts to that movement and gets better at doing it (think probes and pylons). The trick is you want to make sure you are doing it correctly, because if you do it with bad form, you'll basically burn in a bad habit. Do it correctly though, and your body will start to do it automatically regardless of if you have weight on your back or not. Your body will figure out and get more effecient at which muscles to fire, and in what order, and you'll be able to go into autopilot. It takes thousands of reps though, so be patient. Also, a tip on using mirrors. Using a mirror is fine, but you are going to want to not look at it when you are actually doing the movement if you can help it. You want to get used to feeling where your body is in space without seeing it, and additionally looking at a mirror will put your head (and neck, shoulders, back etc...) in bad positions. I'd suggest maybe doing a few practice reps while looking at a mirror to do some quick adjustments, and then using a video recording during your actual reps. Looking at a video, then going back and trying to fix it, and then looking at the video of the fix attempt will help with proprioception (awareness of your own body in space). Source: purely anecdotal, but works for me. ![]()

I'm so awkward when it comes to dancing but I want to be cool XD It's definitely hard and takes a lot of practice, and it really helps if you have someone to do it with or if you can at least record yourself to get a different viewpoint of how it looks. I find this guy's tutorials work well for me for the more technical moves. Just practice a lot, review your sessions and watch a lot of videos and you'll improve quickly. A lot of it is about finding your own style so once beyond the basics only look at videos for inspiration rather than copying. Other videos I'd recommend: Toprock 6 Step There are other videos out there that may be better in terms of video quality or having someone actually speak instead of words written on the video but these videos helped me more than any others I've seen.

Thanks this is exactly what I was hoping for. I've wanted to do this for a long time. Tried windmills first (lol). Despite working on planche, l-sits, levers still too hard which isn't really surprising. I've just been watching videos (a lot of vincanitv) but every time I actually try something it feels super awkward. Like I think I have trouble grasping when and how to shift my weight is my best guess. Anyways these guys are in insane shape, you have to legit train to get this stuff. Any recommendations on set-up for practicing? So far just been doing it on carpet in the largest space in my house but I could probably move some stuff to have maybe enough room on a wood floor. Or garage and leave my car in the cold which is an option.

Some of the moves are simple in theory, like the 6 step, but it's doing it smooth and clean that is the hard part. Just keep at it and definitely record yourself, it's important to know what you look like while doing it. For most of what you'll be doing carpet will be fine. I'd prefer to practice something like the windmill on wood floor to avoid carpet burn, but mostly it's just whatever is more comfortable for you; having space is more important than the surface you're on.
