I'm in Japan at the minute just travelling. There's food literally everywhere so I've been gorging myself. It's mostly cheaper than I'm Australia, especially seafood so I'm eating really well. Small portions have been compensated for with more frequent meals. I did blow a bit of money though last night on some all you can eat shabu-shabu in osaka (money well spent). Also had a cooking class today where we used some sirloin kobe steak (only 50grams per person because it is crazy expensive). Eating so good though and overall under budget!
Only a fool would die laughing. I was a fool.

Totally bombed my organic chem final yesterday T_T. I think I got all the synthesis problems, but the mechanism problems screwed me over, and I couldn't keep the chirality of the "draw this/name this" section straight. I totally missed studying the section on ketones/aldehydes so I was only prepared to do dienes and arenes. Plus the second hardest final of my colege career falling on my birthday with another exam and a paper.

Haven't been to the gym for almost 2 weeks because finals. Finally taking my last exam today. After that, I'm finally hitting the gym (got my new routine finally planned and my SI is feeling good) and then celebrating my birthday, a full 24 hours late. Whooooo!


Oh well, classic last exam, too excited to take it serious. Always happens.

And for me during finals, I love going to the gym mid day to break up my studies and refresh my mind.

What reallly helps for me is prepping my last exam weeks in advance; that way I only have to study my summaries once or twice on the last day. Also, I drank way too much yesterday; fucking impossible to eat stuff when you feel like puking all day. I dunno how you do it Decaf, but combining rough nights with lifting is pretty much impossible for me. I just let go a few times a year and for the rest I abstain from alcohol 100%.

Maybe decaf is perpetually slightly hung over so it doesn't affect him negatively

2 more exams to go for me then I'm done my undergrad :D

@Celltech, its like DOMS. if you only lift once in a while, but when you do, you do a hundred squats, youre going to feel it the next day. For more frequent drinkers, the hangover isnt usually so bad.
That said, i have quite the headache. Successful end of semester/birthday party.

Today:
Squat 1x3 60, 95, 115, 135, 3x3 152.5kg - wasn't hard, but wasn't as easy as I expected it to be.
BP 1x3 45, 55, 65, 75, 5x3 90kg, 1x8 60 - fairly simple.
Chin ups 3x3 +35kg
L-Pull ups 2x5
Dumbbell BP 4-2 38kg, 2x8 28kg - It harder to actually get the 38's to the starting position than it is to press them.

also, gym manager douche threw a hissy fit over the chalk, so now I have to buy liquid one.

Alright, end of the year maxing out, day1:

Bodyweight: 97,4kg

Deadlift: 185kg = 1,9 x bodyweight
Push Press: 85kg = 0,87 x bodyweight
Chin Up: BW + 27,5kg = 1,28 x bodyweight (124,9kg total)

Today a nice fit lady pointed out that my knees tended to cave in during my squats. I was squatting babby weights, focusing solely on form, but despite this she was right. Even with 60kg on my shoulders my knees cave. I've only ever filmed myself from the side and I always look at a spot on the floor when I squat so I never thought it was that much of a problem, but apparently my form is even worse than I thought.

Well, I was deloading anyway, and I'm about to start cutting so I guess in a way it's just good timing. I'm gonna work myself back up to 100kg eventually, but when I do I'm gonna lift it right.

I didn't hit it, if you're wondering, but I did wonder what it would be like. She was one of those muscly types, not roid-muscly but with very clear definition and very low bodyfat. I dunno, doesn't really appeal to me.

edit: lady told me to point my toes less out and stand with my feet closer together. I started lowbar which is why my stance is pretty wide and outward I guess, but it always did feel a little off with highbar.

I'll will do those things once my civil service is over (in 3 months), but till then always remember:
On resting in between reps: It varies with the length of the set. 5s or fewer get a breath to reset. Longer sets might take 2 breaths. During the last few reps of a true 20RM squat, just do what Jesus tells you. -Mark Rippetoe
