On the other hand we also have the sponsor on the negotiating table and I am sure they want to bind their brand to a team for a bit longer to increase the connection the team and the sponsor have. They want to create this thing that when you think of Chelsea you automatically think of Adidas too for example. That's my guess anyway.

Plus the team have to do certain things to show off the Addidas image (using Chelsea as example). You wan't your team you sponsor in the Champions League so the European press take pictures and the Addidas symbol is in the papers. They want your team winning trophies so the Addidas symbol is beamed world wide. So the deal is 30million a year but it is also providing the fact Chelsea need to be in Europe and need to win Trophies xD On June 24 2013 02:08 Tazza wrote: Well, senol Gunes is wanted by besiktas and a Qatari club, but he's still waiting for Korea to call him. Meanwhile, seems like hong myung Bo is seemingly continuously rejecting the manager position, after Korea proposed to him a 5 year, 2 World Cup deal. Lol wouldn't be surprised if hong kept rejecting us while Gunes for to besiktas, bielsa goes to his hometown club, and Korea ends up with another anonymous kleague manager. I saw some K League results this morning...5-3 and 6-0 .... Seems a strange league? xd

Seems a strange league? xd The league itself isn't that bad, but the track record of kleague managers going on to the national team is almost always bad. Our last two managers dominated kleague and the Asian champions league, but failed big time on a bigger stage. Maybe not completely dominate like a Barcelona did, but u get my point

I hate it when it happens on FM12, and I lose 2 of my starting players for the most important match of the season Unless u get military exemption, before u are 28 or 30? U must serve 2 years of military service, which for soccer players is playing for the sangju team, a division 2 club that can't be promoted. Pretty much, a career killer And dude u must be a really dedicated fm player. I never play kleague. I've tried championship teams and etc, but never kleague lol

I think you probably nailed it, but I still can't stop feeling that the insanely long deals can hurt clubs alot. The best example on the list posted on the previous page is Manchester United: Obviously a far bigger brand and club than Chelsea, yet they wont be able to renegotiate what now looks like a pretty bad deal for them, and Chelsea will have a huge advantage for several years when it comes to shirt sponsorship.

Well military service is a really sensitive issue in Korea and the citizens don't want soccer players to have so much leeway just because they're athletes. They must suffer with us haha. And it's really hard to get exemption. Only winning select competitions will get u exemption. Even an Asian cup victory doesn't get u it

Well sure but when the contract expires in a few years they can renegotiate and Chelsea will be stuck with the problem. Looks like United made a bad deal though when you see all the other clubs. I find it very interesting due to restrictions and how different it is to European leagues.

Would work if you could get a legit football career on the go If u even tried to do something like this, you'd probably be deported from Korea because of all the public outrage it would cause. I'm not joking about this

I'm not joking about this Ah I was told this by a 17 year old Finnish boy so I wasn't completely sure if srs. That really sucks that people who clearly have more going for them than the average person have to join the military and disrupt their careers.

Yeah, I think it'd be much better for football players to represent the nation by playing in Europe rather than going to the military, but it is what it is

Yep, looks like it: Wikipedia said: The bronze medal winning team of 2012 Summer Olympics were granted exemptions from mandatory military service.

Park chu young wouldn't have had to go until he was like 35 because he played in Monaco and the prince there or something have him permanent residence. But even this cause outrage from the Korean public and he wasn't called up to the national team for quite some time. Then hong myung Bo called him up to the olympics and boldly said he'd go to the military for park if he had to. And told the public not to worry in a press conference. Such a boss this hong myung Bo is. Oh, an hong myung Bo has now officially officially been named manager. Feel so bad for senol gunes And son Heung min still doesn't have exemption since he wasn't on that Olympic team, but he will have his chances
