We don't have a world cup qualification thread either and those matches are generally more exciting than The New Saints FC (WAL) v Legia Warszawa (POL) (no offense to the fans of either team).
Let's just discuss those matches in a new football thread for the new season if you want to but wait with creating a CL topic until maybe the group draw where all participating teams are known.
Ok! Very true, i couldn't make the World Cup qualifier thread due to it starting weird time, however, i will do it for the next one. And i will make one for the EURO 2016 qualifiers too xD

Means i have to start the mamoth task that is the new Football Thread too xD. Lets get to 500 pages before leave this one though brothers and sisters! How much time do you spend on these threads? Must be a crazy amount of work. Well because im a bum at work and my job is stupidly easy (i have like 2hours work per 8hour day i do) i spend most of it making threads on TL and updating stuff. Plus i love football like everyone here so i find it fun to do so. Always wanted a job in sports journalism so this is the next best thing :D As for how long a thread takes well. The football thread last year took me from 8:30am till 2:30pm, i did it all in one go xD Sounds like a nice job and send me a pm if you need some help and I'll see what I can do.

Well, like any team that promotes from the second division, they're gonna have a really tough season in which luck and very pristine management will matter a lot whether they can stay up. The teams have to really upgrade their squad with very minimalistic transfer budgets so they'll loan a bunch of players from youth divisions of the top teams and the like. Maybe they'll grab some old players as well that still want to play in the Eredivisie.
They are historically a bigger team than most though (from teams in the 2nd division) and they have a decently sized stadium so they have a shot to stay in. Practically all promoting teams are always favorites for demotion though in the next season.
I believe it's rare for teams like these to have a bigger budget than say.. €10m or something so they'll have to lean on efficiency and creativity.
Actually, this is a list of last year that I just googled. Not sure how accurate it is but it should be close: Ajax Amsterdam – begroting: 62 miljoen PSV Eindhoven – begroting: 60 miljoen FC Twente – begroting: 46 miljoen Feyenoord – begroting: 35 miljoen Vitesse – begroting: 30 miljoen AZ – begroting: 28 miljoen SC Heerenveen - begroting: 22,5 miljoen FC Groningen – begroting: 18 miljoen NAC Breda – begroting: 14 miljoen * ADO Den-Haag – begroting: 13,6 miljoen FC Utrecht – begroting: 13,5 miljoen N.E.C. – begroting: 11,5 miljoen Roda JC Kerkrade – begroting: 11 miljoen Heracles Almelo – begroting: 8,5 miljoen Willem II – begroting: 8,1 miljoen VVV-Venlo – begroting: 7,5 miljoen PEC Zwolle – begroting: 7,1 miljoen RKC Waalwijk – begroting: 4,9 miljoen
Where begroting means budget.

Wow! Defo will try and catch there games. What an awesome team name! Any idea if they play nice stuff? Or if there fans are crazy?
Right it has taken me all morning, but that is the Football thread done for this year. Now we just need to get this page to 500 before i can release it xD
Ahh, so basically you have money if your a top 3 club in Netherlands if not your basically living of scraps.

Manchester United's Nani, Fluminense’s Carlinhos Napoli's Inler and Schalke's Farfan
All of them rumoured to Galatasaray. Also Gala's chairman said that "We will probably make two or three transfers". So these transfers are totally possible.

LOL sounds fkn awesome xD Do they have a chance to do well next season! They actually won the national title 4 times The most interesting thing for me is that their stadium has 6,700 seats. Lots of people in my country are calling for stricter criteria when it comes to the type of stadiums 'allowed' in our first league (for example min 10k seater), hell former European champions Red Star Belgrade are having lots of problems complying to UEFA regulations let alone the smaller clubs. So I find it really odd a team can play in a 'top' European league with a 6,7k seat stadium...

The level of play of the Eredivisie is pretty bad and the bottom is hidious so be ready for a lot of silly mistakes. It's entertaining though.

Well, it was quite obvious that Ancelotti was going to be Real Madrid manager. btw, Zinedine Zidane will be the second coach (he is a good friend of Ancelotti).

But would all clubs in your first league actually fill 10k stadiums? Otherwise it's just dead weight and unnecessary expense for the club. FIFA regulations have little to do with capacity and a lot to do with security I believe.

The Dutch Eredivisie actually has very filled stadiums it's just that the second league is terrible.
